    Pros

People, real enthusiasm to embrace ideas and drive as an organisation to progress in the right way and not at all costs

    Cons

People Management Skills are poor, although keen to progress individuals, ability of Managers to manage people with clear direction and honest assessment of shortcomings is lacking.

    Advice to Management

Take a close look at your sales focus and client management within organisation. Too many 'Sales People' not enough real relationships within some of the businesses. Bring the Work Life balance back to this firm as the reason people joined is of course for the calibre of the firm but also to ensure the work life balance is there. Without it and without bulge bracket salaries, people will continue to drive attrition in the business

    Pros

Good experience to gain and opportunity to grow and develop additional skills. Frequent visits to EMEA offices. Highly responsible job as front facing high profile users.

    Cons

Not enough time in the day to full fill daily tasks assigned, always working with high pressured environment. Quality of service provided to users well beyond expectations. Enjoyable role as all staff are friendly and good team spirit.

    Pros

Free Coffee Often say thank you, but salary and bonus disappoint Aspirational -yet don't fund industry standard courses or encourage ongoing learning or education Autonomy - managers don't know or care what's going on as long as you don't ask questions, make mistakes, or add to their work work load Flat structure - flat pay - clearly suits the mediocre employee Great figure heads, Fink,Kapito, Goldstein - lots of inspiration, little action however Slick marketing machine, little substance to offer Apply now! We'll offer you a job for below average wages and above average workload 'One blackrock's' values - they are so meaningful and differentiating

    Cons

Where to start..... Salaries & bonus are rubbish and below industry average as blackrock rely on their dubious reputation to attract eager talent Management only cares about sales, not service - consequently service / relationship management is not respected or remunerated Dated platform & technology - fragmented infrastructure is slow and cumbersome Cultural issues remain despite BGI 'unification' years ago Long hours with little appreciation Little bonus but thank you for your contribution for the Firm

    Advice to Management

Continue with your unwavering vision; any advice I have to offer would simply fall on deaf ears. As organic growth has been such a roaring success, there's surely a case to abandon your latest acquisition strategy.

    Pros

International organization Biggest Asset Manager in the world Great people, great culture Great opportunity to grow and learn new skills Blackrock values longevity and promotes internal mobility

    Cons

Work load is vast but with the right communication, work/life balance is possible. Work/life balance doesn't mean less work, it means flexibility around your job to fit your life and family It can sometimes be difficult to navigate such large organisation

    Pros

Supportive line manager, structured career progression, strong culture with access to senior managers who have great passion for what they do.

    Cons

As with many large organisations, there can be a sense of working in silos. BlackRock does try to address this issue with a selection of internal networking. groups. There is a culture of long hours.

    Advice to Management

Enable employees to utilise flexible working practices which are to be supported by management. Provide more transparency around how compensation is determined.
