I have been working at Blackhawk Network full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Expanding employee programs, flexibility, caring employer, growth and innovation. The company has grown quite a bit in the last 2 years yet they still value the input of their employees. At times it feels like a very large company yet at times it still feels like a small start up environment.

    Cons

Could use additional internal training programs and learning modules.

    Pros

Good job if you only want to work a couple days a week. Flexible scheduling. My district manager was the best.

    Cons

No room for advancement unless your in the correct circle. All districts are not treated the same, there are favorites.

I have been working at Blackhawk Network full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great medical benefits. Great vacation accrual. Great sick pay. Great time off during the holiday. Flex time. You are treated like an adult. Pay is decent.

    Cons

The office has grown and hard to keep a family atmosphere. Many changes with people leaving and not hiring fast enough to balance work load. Lot's of changes in updating technology

    Advice to Management

Try to continue to build your team up. Make sure you develop them and help them grow in the company instead of out the door. Realize great talent and utilize your strengths.

I worked at Blackhawk Network full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

3 and 3, smoke breaks, using the Safeway Corporate Gym (not sure if that perk exists anymore), cool management, being able to go bananas at Halloween and create what was probably the best re-enactment of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, cool start up atmosphere, having lunch in Little Tijuana, and covering Peter's desk in spider webs when he was on PTO.

    Cons

No cons that I can recall. Blackhawk is an awesome place to work!

I have been working at Blackhawk Network full-time

    Pros

Fast paced environment where you can learn a lot, cool people all around. Emerging industry with something new to learn every week.

    Cons

They say they promote internal growth but it's all talk. You would be lucky to advance far in this company. Salaries are far below market in an area as expensive as the Bay Area. Workload does not reflect wages at all. When push comes to shove, the company policies will do whatever they can to get the most out of you while simultaneously ousting you regardless of work ethic or credibility. With the tremendous amount of company growth, the lower level employees see no extra compensation while the higher ups collect their bonuses. Lackluster Stock program and no bonuses, mixed with a poor salary and terrible growth opportunity makes this a company nobody would want to work for.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. It is nonsense that all of the people that make this company run successfully don't see a dime with such growth. Programs fall apart everyday because of poor management, so the managers need much better training. If someone does great work and looks for advancement, fight for them rather than let them walk.
