Blockbuster Reviews
-
Pros
Free movie rentals. Pretty laid back - not a very hard job even as manager. Not too hard to get promoted to management, if you stick with the company for a while. The District and Store managers were good in my area.
Cons
Horrible, horrible pay. The store I worked at was a franchise Blockbuster and had much lower pay scales than corporate Blockbusters. Customer complaints seem constant due to late fees/scratched discs/little selection, etc. Customers sometimes are difficult to deal with, but the regulars seem to make it worth it. Low employee retention - went through numerous store managers in a relatively short period.
Advice to Senior Management
Franchise - Fix your pay scales to make them line up with Corporate stores. Less than $7 for a manager that had been there for a number of years? Unacceptable.
