Technical Assistant I/Components

Technical Assistant In Components Department (Former Employee)
Mather, CA

I worked at BloodSource full-time for more than a year

ProsThe company team building activities and the Starbucks coffee in the break room. Most of your fellow employees are friendly and personable, otherwise there is nothing worth mentioning.

ConsUnder-appreciated sweat shop labor, with a prison-like/military backdrop. The work in the component department is very mundane and tiring. That would be fine if that was all, but the lack of proper compensation and unecessary drama combine to make a very stressful environment. Overall, not a good place to work. Especially not for less than $14/hr.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet your heads out of your ass and do your job. Be responsible and accountable for what goes on in your lab. This is isn't the Marine Corp mixed with Saved By the Bell. We are there to work, not be your emotional punching bags.

Work for a great cause no room for advancement

Center Recruitment Representative II (Former Employee)
Mather, CA

I worked at BloodSource part-time for more than 3 years

ProsReminding the community how important blood donations are
You have the opportunity to meet with the CEO with 15 other co-workers to talk about the organization once a year
Staff is pretty friendly
Books for all coworkers to share
Mentor program
college loan reimbursement
Company Parties

Consnon-profit = no room for a good salary in the long run

Advice to Senior ManagementMake sure that all upper management stay true to the mission, vision, and value. One of the reasons why I stayed so long was because of Mike's meetings.
