Reasonably flexible work hours. Working from home is acceptable when necessary to work around family commitments.
Opportunities for professional development are good. Bloomberg supports engagement with conferences and standards committees.

    Cons

The work areas are open (i.e., no cubicles or offices). Noise from colleagues can sometimes be distracting.

I have been working at Bloom

    Pros

Benefits, remodeled stores, pay is OK, I like the associates I work with, quarterly bonus (when it's paid on time)

    Cons

Little or no connection with upper management (VP), constantly changing directions, everything is a priority, propaganda of 24% increase in sales if we connect with each guest - LOL

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

stop cutting hours in the stores and reduce our overhead! We have 3 VP's for 64 stores! Figure out who we want to be and let's do it!

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    I worked at Bloom

    Pros

Great people, can be fun environment- depends on your Store and District Mgr, flexible work schedules and time off, growth opportunities

    Cons

Senior mgt doesn't have clear communication and unrealistic goals/exceptions. Senior mgt says they want to receive feedback- open and honest, however, when you share you're always told it's your issue and how can you change the situation.
At the district mgr level, DMs are open to feedback and working with you through your thoughts.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When requesting associate surveys, follow through to the end--- share the results and create the lead for change. I'd say, we already know what needs to change in the company, no need for another survey!
Focus more on associate development and believing in the associates for growth.
Create a non-threatening environment and retention would increase.
Stick with one strategic vision and plan.
