    Good

I have been working at Bloomin' Brands full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Management will attempt to help you path your career and help you succeed.
It is a fun work environment if you let it be.
Company is rather generous to employees.

    Cons

Company is very corporate at times. Since going public they are more focused on the bottom line.
Tenured employees usually complain about "the good ol' days were."
Some projects will be implemented without proper research and stability.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure employees that are doing a good job are being recognized quickly they will not hang around forever.
Look before you leap, sometimes the grass is not always greener.

I have been working at Bloomin' Brands

    Pros

Great programs acknowledging hard work of employees. Growth potential for most departments. Home office is great location and work areas are updated.

    Cons

Many people seem stressed with work-life balance and the amount of hours worked. While there is growth potential, it seems that there are many open positions due to internal transfers resulting in position coverage needs. Health insurance benefits are poor compared to other companies of similar size.

    Pros

You learn so much and are able to progress quickly.

    Cons

Long hours. Sometimes 80 hour weeks but usually 65-70. No chance for much of a life outside of work. The insurance pays for nothing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put a halt to all of the new weekly reports which satisfy only the accounting department. The business is food and restaurants, not number crunching.

Working for Bloomin' Brands was a fantastic experience for me. I really enjoyed being a manager at Roy's.

I worked at Bloomin' Brands full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The corporation really knows how to take care of their employees. Upon hire, you go through a rigorous and thorough training for almost every type of position you can hold at the restaurant. Since I was training for a management position, I trained at a different restaurant from the one I would actually be working at. They paid for all of my travel expenses to get to the new training restaurant, and covered the cost for the America's Extended Stay Hotel suite that I lived in for several weeks while I was training. Once I got to my new restaurant I felt very welcomed at ease. My fellow coworkers were very professional and I admired their integrity. They have VERY strong company values, and they make that very apparent at all times. The compensation was fair in comparison to the market at the time. The compensation package was outstanding! Full medical, dental, vision, and a 401K package.

    Cons

I honestly can't think of any cons at the moment. The only thing I would have liked to have seen implemented for the managers would have been a rotating schedule throughout the month so no one would get stuck working every day of every weekend. It would've been nice to occasionally have off on a Saturday or a Sunday every once in a while.

I have been working at Bloomin' Brands full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Schedule flexibility
    Usually great leadership
3 or more weeks of vacation
Hiring who you want to work for you
    Fast paced, have fun attitude

    Cons

Long hours for the money being paid, usually 12 hour days.
Once you become a manager it's hard to become a managing partner. There is little room to move up unless you want to relocate to the east coast, and let's be honest, the east coast sucks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some acknowledgement to field managers would go a long way with morale, not just an email.

I have been working at Bloomin' Brands full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

the loyalty from the j.v. level and down. partners and managers and hourly are very dedicated. have worked at 4 different locations and all have be great in its own way. still a great place to be a server or cook.

    Cons

home office has changed in past 4-5 years. no longer worried about store level people or the Principles and Beliefs. only worried about bottom line no matter how it gets to it. continues to hire people from outside companies that are jumping from old companies that are not doing good and bringing that to bbi.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

when most of the home office staff and officers have left their is obviously something wrong at office. actually live p's and b's.

I worked at Bloomin' Brands full-time

    Pros

Comp card for restaurant use, free coffee and soft drinks in break room . Covered parking. Some very good peers working their.

    Cons

Employees afraid of loosing their jobs, managers take credit for others work. Some VP's in positions they are not qualified for, they don't have the educational background or experience necessary for their positions. Pay doesn't meet industry standard.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Liz Smith takes $20+ million for taking company public, then walks on the backs of lesser paid employees.
