    Pros

Most everyone was welcoming and supportive

    Cons

Some are slow to accept change

    Advice to Management

Doing "More with less" will not work. If you were efficient to begin with you can do more with the same or you can maintain with less. Doing more with less only increases anxiety and stress. It will eventually turnaround and bite you back.

    Pros

Blue Care Network is a good company to work for. The pay and benefits are excellent. The company does take time out to find out what will make the employees happy.

    Cons

Customer Service is a very micromanaged department to work in, however that appears to be the norm for most call centers.

    Advice to Management

Production goals and standards are important in running any business, but keep in mind that people are human beings and not robots.

    Cons

Some what competitive working environment. Many positions are unionized which means some bad employees are protected - makes it difficult to get things done.

    Advice to Management

    stop with the nepotism.

I have been working at Blue Care Network of Michigan full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

401K matched, AWESOME benefits package, Nice co-workers, and Diversity & Inclusion are a company priority

    Cons

Top down decision making, little room for career advancement & hard to move around, company politics, and I often find myself wondering how some managers and directors became leaders at BCN.

    Advice to Management

I would highly advise utilizing the SMEs within the company vs making decisions based on who has a higher title. I don't understand the point of having SMEs, but not taking their opinions into consideration when important decisions are being made. By actively listing to employees you will give the impression that employees actually matter to the company and are a valuable asset. I also recommend not micromanaging. In my opinion, f you have time to micromanage then you have too much time on your hands.

I worked at Blue Care Network of Michigan full-time

    Pros

The health benefits were outstanding and employees do not have to pay a lot for their premium.

    Cons

Leadership/Management was terrible. There is not a lot of training and the manager did not know the job and could not help or give guidance. A lot of the employees did not know what they were doing. It was very political. BCN wastes money where they could help lower premiums for people who cannot afford health care.

I have been working at Blue Care Network of Michigan full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

BCN provides good compensation, benefits and focus on empowering its employees

    Cons

The building is run down and while the company is equipped with telecommuting services, it it discouraged in practice. BCN does do some hiring internally but there does not seem to be a way to develop an official career plan.

    Advice to Management

BCN has recently rolled out courses to analysts and above for building project management skills and the course was very good. I'd like to see more instructor led courses that build on business and technical skills. It would be excellent for employees that desire a career at BCN if there was a framework for determining a career path.

Allowed for independent work, was allowed to meet with top executives, sometimes felt like work was high impact

    Cons

End of the summer the work slowed way down, got really boring.

    Advice to Management

Keep interns busy until end of summer
