I worked at Blue Man Productions full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Family-like atmosphere
"People" focused rather than the bottom line
    Freedom to be innovative
Suggestions and contributions are not only welcomed but encouraged and rewarded

    Cons

Be aware that when you work for this company you are a representative of their company image - even on your off times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what you are doing! Working here has been one of the best employment periods of my life and I was truly sad to go.

I have been working at Blue Man Productions full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people, passionate environment, collaborative atmosphere, work/life balance is wonderful

    Cons

Limited growth potential, low salaries (though better than average in the theater business I suppose), unpredictable management

    Recommends
    Neutral Outlook
  7.

I worked at Blue Man Productions

    Pros

It's a creative environment that seeks to deliver a quality show to its patrons. The people tend to be a lot of fun.

    Cons

The leadership, at times, seems to be less comfortable with running a large (and growing) business. The artistic roots show through when trying to handle things like HR, professional growth and fiscal management. I don't think these areas are BMP's strengths.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would suggest that the company work to be more equitable from company to company (city to city) and department to department.

I worked at Blue Man Productions

    Pros

    Fun show
    Great product
    Excellent benefits
    Exciting place to work
    Creative people

    Cons

Each city has their own vibe. Some cities get along great, but the Orlando crew had dissension from the start. A lot of layoffs and firings in the first two years--mostly passed on personality. If you do not get along with everyone, you will have a target on your back.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    None

    Pros

    - Great Corporate Culture
    - Really respectful with employees
    - Amazing people
    - great vision for the future of the company

    Cons

    - They need more younger people to help them translate their innovations in the music and theatrical fields to the digital era.

    Recommends
