Advice to Senior Management
none
Pros
Has product which can do better
Cons
No growth for engineers as uk manages it like military
Pros
Dynamic, growth, good product, interesting people
Cons
Some entrenched stubborness in the engineering department
Advice to Senior Management
Embrace change and do not stand on what has worked in the past.
Pros
pre-IPO, great compensation packages including stock options, opportunities for career growth, cutting edge technology, industry leader in Network Attached Storage space, strong management team
Cons
unlike larger companies with unlimited cash to fund support resources, each employee at BlueArc must roll up their sleeves and do the day to day work needed to make the company successful, i.e., no management only positions - all positions are hands on.
Pros
Good people, decent product, fairly stable.
Cons
Company is caught between direct sales and a single large OEM (HDS). BlueArc struggles to please both avenues. (The features needed for a complete product for direct sales are not the same as those needed by a large OEM.)
Advice to Senior Management
Adjust strategy accordingly, and communicate to employees.
Pros
As a mid-sized yet fast growing company, every employee has an opportunity to make an impact on the company's success and be recognized and rewarded; good cross functional teamwork, communication, and very good executive leadership; very good compensation including pre-IPO stock option grants.
Cons
growing pains as we move from private toward public company
Advice to Senior Management
Spend more time with employees at all levels of organization
