Pros
It is a good starter job, and is hard to get fired from this job. I knew a sales guy who was an outside sales rep. Even after he got a DUI he still wasn't fired. He was brought back inside and he still missed work and wasn't fired.
Cons
Little to no growth. Upper management is not concerned with employees, but only the bottom line. They have a hard time motivating employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Understand that the current model in in effective and try something new. There is a reason why there is high turnover in your company.
Pros
certain management made it all worth the while and let achievers do so.
Cons
too many of the great leadership has gone, and the morale now is too pathetic.
Advice to Senior Management
beware who else is left. Morale is low so many are looking if not have already left.
Pros
Right now I am not sure if there is even 1 best reason other then at least you are earning a paycheck. With the most recent round of layoffs you are working really hard for your money.
Cons
You are a number and your feedbcak is not considered. Too many chiefs and not enough indians. Management makes decisions in a vacuum without listening to feedback from the people interacting with the customers. More importantly as a customer service organization they do not listen to the customer very well either.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay attention to the employees and the feedback that they give you since they are dealing with the people paying your bills...the customer
Pros
The company cares about the quality of life of their employees and the hours are very good compared to previous companies I have worked at. They have now created an alternative work schedule that allows employees flex-time and telecommuting.
Cons
The industry they compete in is very difficult and challenging, and the company lacks the strategic leadership to help them through troubled times. The environment can be frustrating at times as it appears the company often chooses the wrong thing to do.
Advice to Senior Management
Senior management has started to turn things around, but my biggest advice is to view yourselves as a collective team rather than individuals trying to keep hold of their empires.
