    Pros

You are given lots of responsibility and autonomy, which does not happen often in many internships. They really want to accommodate your interests to help you get the most out of the internship as possible and to help you in your future career. The Marketing team is great to work for and you really get a strong sense of how an online retail business is run rather than doing simple day to day tasks all of the time.

    Cons

The only con is that it is an unpaid internship not unlike most other internships in fashion and marketing, although they will refund all of your traveling expenses.

    Advice to Management

Keep setting the bar high, it's easy to see that the company has come along way under your management.

  2. No Work Life Balance

I have been working at Bluefly full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

nice manager and work remotely capabilities

    Cons

terrible company culture and rude employees

    Advice to Management

listen to employee's cries when they tell you they are burned out and overworked. it makes for a better job performance. taking away the little company perks there was isn't the way to make people wan to stay. I feel people who are here longer than a year or two are complacent with the way things are and lazy to make a change in their careers

I worked at Bluefly full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There really were none, in my brief experience there.

    Cons

I was hired as a "copywriter" in their newly opened Devens, MA, warehouse. This was essentially assembly-line work grabbing products off the shelves, churning out descriptions as fast as possible and moving on to the next item. We were poorly trained, the computer system was abysmally slow and frequently crashed, the warehouse was as yet unheated, and it was clearly going to be a soul-crushing experience. I quit before that could happen.

    Advice to Management

Get some heart and don't treat your employees like cattle. A copywriter is more than an automaton spitting out descriptions of 40 products a day. Also, New York is great, but at least try to hide your contempt for other states in which you're doing business from their residents.

    Pros

Good managers but they seem to have given up making improvements since the corporate office doesnt back anything up

    Cons

Very disorganized, no sharing between corporate and the cs team. takes almost a year to get tech issues fixed, literally. Low pay and the bonus is inaccraute. Insurance is very high.

I worked at Bluefly full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

People are nice the ones that have been there for more then 3 years everyone else ehhhh. You can get XP if you put hard work into it, but leave at your first opportunity.

    Cons

Management does what they want not based on data and experience. They think throwing money at people will make them work harder or be more loyal to the brand. Everyone is not treated equally.

    Advice to Management

    None

    Pros

People are nice and easy going and its generally a good place to work for a short period of time. Good amount of days off, casual office.

    Cons

Lack of Communication and disorganization reign supreme. For a company its size it could benefit being more dynamic but is surprisingly rigid. The turn over is high because certain departments are clearly valued over others and the compensation is less than satisfactory. When you don't feel valued by the company at large and upper management doesn't communicate with you the team cant help but feel complacent and disconnected. Sadly you shouldn't expect any substantial salary increase or even dream of a promotion. This place could be awesome but some simple things don't get addressed and it seems as though management doesn't really seam to care.

    Advice to Management

Communicate! Everyone is kept in dark about everything leading people to feel alienated from the company! Compensate People Fairly! Great talent is walking out the door everyday because compensation is better elsewhere!
