It was a great experience, perfect for a first job in retail.

    Sales Associate (Current Employee)
    Brampton, ON (Canada)

ProsThis location had great training, fun employees, good discounts, and was a very easy job in general. Bluenotes is the perfect place to work if you're looking to start out in retail.

ConsThe mall this store was located at was often very dead. The business was very poor and was gradually getting worse. The company made very little money so the employees didn't get too many hours.

Advice to Senior ManagementCreate a stronger bond with your employees!

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Chill environment, unorganized supervisors

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsNo dress code which is great. Relaxed supervisors, good training. Room to move within the company.

ConsLong hours, "call ins" which make you come in within 2 hours of being called. Kind of make you dedicate your life to the company.

    Overworked, Underpaid, Never recognized

    Team Leader (Current Employee)
    Ottawa, ON (Canada)

ProsFlexible hours when working part time and you met some really great people.

ConsLow paying company, even in management position. Do not follow Health and Safety regulations. Unhealthy and hostile working environment. Poor management who have no training. Head Office does not know what they are doing. They make horrible quality clothing, shrinks or falls apart easily.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement training! All of the training! Appreciate the hard work your employees do for the company. Pay your employees higher.

    overworked, low pay, no appreciation

    Sales Associate (Current Employee)
    Toronto, ON (Canada)

Pros- good coworkers, will give you hours if you would like it. Other than that, I can't think of any other pros.

Cons- overworked, with no appreciation. low pay, poor management, high turnovers. they have certain periods in which they give you $20 bonuses, for a number of card memberships you sell. however, i was never given one despite my high sales record

Advice to Senior Managementappreciation to employees would be first.

great place to work if you've got a great team

    First Key Holder (Former Employee)
    Milton, ON (Canada)

Prosi worked with great people so my experience was pretty good. they gave me full time hours and a lot of responsibility right away, which i liked.

Consthe pay isn't great. there was also a large turn over at my store so we were always having to hire and train new people. my manager was also co-managering two stores which meant that i was thrust into a MOD position REALLY fast. it was hard to keep up at times.

Advice to Senior Managementi wouldn't change much, really. i would ask for the district managers to make sure that the people they hire on as managers are qualified, though. you don't want to work with a manager who knows less than you about the store!
