    Pros

I enjoyed the motivational speeches and also the instructions given to complete tasks.

    Cons

My only challenge was getting paid on time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would advise them to work on their salary payment program.

I worked at Bob Evans full-time

    Pros

They are always trying to keep up with whats new in the industry. As soon as you get usesd to doing something one way they will change it!

    Cons

The pay scale is lower here than at other restaurants of this type. All units are corporately owned so payscale should be more consistant, yet its based on area you are in.

I have been working at Bob Evans part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The best reason to work here are the people. Everyone I have come in contact with are incredibly welcoming and friendly, making for a positive work day.

    Cons

Some of the challenges working here are dealing with the upper management, poor benefits, and nonnegotiable income. If you can make it to a senior position, the company is great. However, you will sacrifice all of your time and energy to do so.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give credit where it is due. Treat those below you with respect, and in turn you will gain theirs.

I worked at Bob Evans full-time for less than a year

    Pros

There is a lot of room for advancement. Insurance is good. Fast paced.

    Cons

High management overturn. Bad senior management. Employee set in ways of rule breaking. Gm and agm and assistants never on the same page.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Check in closely on older management. Just bc everything looks good on the surface and on paper, doesn't necessarily mean they are good. There is a lot of clean up upon area coach arrival. Makes it hard to follow the rules when they are different when different people are present.

I worked at Bob Evans full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Company in good financial standing

    Cons

The hours you are expected to work, Lack of staff, pressure from the corporate ladder to produce results, Lack of appreciation for employees, bonuses cut, no employee appreciation incentives

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to get back to basics and take care of your people before everyone leaves. It is quite a dysfunctional family that you have created. If something is not done to improve the way employees are treated and customer service does not pick up there will not be a Bob Evans down the line. You can't continue to operate on your skeleton staff structure that is in place. It is wearing everyone out.

I worked at Bob Evans full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Can't remember anything great about the place toward the end.

    Cons

    - Impossible to meet bonuses, because the plan was constantly changed.
    - No life, schedule sucked. Worked 10-12 hours a day.
    - Area Coach was unprofessional. Would discipline you in front of employees instead of privately. But showed favoritism and ignored the same issues with other stores or managers that he liked.
    - Not only dealing with the health department but also Steritech. Steritech made it impossible to pass with a good score, which affects your bonus.
    - Run skeleton crews. Make sure you have your "Aces in their places" and you'll be fine. That was their way of saying cross train one person to do three different categories and use them in all three during slow periods.
    - The Labor Matrix they follow here was a joke. If you failed to meet the daily labor allowance you'd have to email the area coach and tell him why. And once again the unprofessional showed in his emails.
    - Impossible to get promoted here, again unless you're the Area Coaches favorite. I've seen managers that I had to train get promoted because they were chummy with the AC.
    - Don't expect a raise.
    - They have no problem transferring you to a store 45 minutes from where you live.
