    I have been working at Bob's Stores part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    It's a fun place to work with great people, an opportunity to be creative while working on the floor and helping customers. Flexible hours with good shifts. The store hours aren't too late or to early either

    Cons

    The pay isn't very good and they'll never give you more than 39 hours so it probably isn't the place for you if you're looking for a full time job

    I have been working at Bob's Stores (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great exposure to loss prevention

    Cons

    Working alone is very difficult gets very tiring at times. Having minimum of 2 loss prevention employees per store is highly recommended

    Advice to Management

    Invest in better surveillance equipment and have 2 loss prevention employees per store in order to significantly reduce theft.

    Pros

    Very laxed workforce. Most people are friendly and welcome you with open arms. A chance to learn multiple brands and expand you retail knowledge

    Cons

    Dismal outlook. No accountability for employees to execute goals or plans. Amazon will continue to dominate the retail market and these brands do not have the ecommerce presence to compete

    Advice to Management

    Implement a bonus structure that motivates and rewards those who excel. Focus on all brands. Continue to develop the ecomm business

    Pros

    There is a nice discount on everything there so you can get stuff pretty cheap. The associates are really nice

    Cons

    Management doesn't know what they're doing, nor do they have the skills to properly manage the schedule for everyone's accommodations.

    Advice to Management

    Learn how to run the store

    I have been working at Bob's Stores full-time

    Pros

    Better than traveling to NYC every day. The people are great. Good work/life balance. Very casual atmosphere. Fair employee discount.

    Cons

    Poorly managed with too many old dogs in high places. (many upper level execs have been there over 25 yrs) Not much forward thinking going on. They are lightyears behind other retailers. No employee salary increases at the corporate level in 7 years (but management gets their bonuses, car allowances or company cars). Stores are worn and outdated. In house systems outdated. Employer 401k match discontinued and probably won't return. Other benefits are fair at best. Owned by a venture capital group so it's all about the bottom line at the expense of the employee. In spite of all of this, some people love it here. ??

    Advice to Management

    The company is in desperate need of new blood with fresh ideas.

    Friendly managers, good employee discount

    Very high turnover for sales associates in my store Low yearly raises

    Friendly management, everything is organized and tasks are very simple and easy to complete.

    Cons

    Co-workers often think they are better than you/ not friendly. Not many hours are given. Not a high enough pay.

    Advice to Management

    Raise the pay rate. Associates are not paid enough for how much work they are expected to do.
