Pros
solid pipeline
decent salary & benefits
good management in some functional areas
opportunities for gaining international experience
good network of colleagues globally
Cons
not all management cares about employees
work/life balance is supported on the surface but in reality you are expected to work beyond normal business hours
profitability takes precendence over employee health/well being
Pros
benefits- good healthcare and overall organizational structure
good people- co-workers and mid-mgmt, very professional and no negative selling
good products- well respected in the community by physicians
good training and supportive sales tools
Cons
A big problem amongst the reps is low morale because of the leadership that came in over the past 4 years. They basically treated everyone with very little respect and made it very clear that they were replaceable and that they were like pawns. I understand that a couple of these Senior Leaders are beginning to be changed. It will take a long time for a positive vibe to flow back down. The sales force stopped trusting the Sr. Leadership and morale was decreased-> sales were also effected.
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on not changing goals in midstream, providing positive reinforcement instead of fear tactics to motivate those people you have already chosen who are dedicated and who are hard workers. You have already lost a lot of good people. Many more are staying because it is a Job, I truly hope you are able to earn back their respect and dedication. This is a tight group who will do anything to make it work.
Pros
Management was transparent about advancement opportunities and provided constructive feedback and guidance.
Great benefits and an incredible amount of paid time off
Cons
like everywhere, you can be limited on advancement opportunities if you are immobile
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to develop talent from within
Pros
excellent benefits, good 401k with company match, good pension plan. good work life balance. communicates well with its employees about changes occurring or about to occur
Cons
the corporate culture has changed since the company decided to downsize. less emphasis on relationships and more focus on business and results.
Advice to Senior Management
make the working environment more fun to come to work. make meetings more fun to attend. incorporate more of what employees are doing well and help them strengthen what they do well.
Pros
Great work-life balance [if you push for it], great benefits and PTO, if you are in an area of lack of leadership is a great opportunity to shine...if not switch to Marketing
Cons
Poor, poor location- particularly if you are young and single: go die somewhere else. Poor visibility if you are in the clinical side or DSI- military approach to power.
Advice to Senior Management
Be absolutely flexible to let talent live wherever they want [all across US]; learn from successful pharma companies, be more strategic with your launches: have a plan that is more than one approval.
Pros
Excellent salary and benefits including pension and 5 week vacation plan.
Cons
Very poor career advancement prospects. You also will not get the opportunity to move laterally easily.
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on employee career development.
Pros
Good benefits and vacation allowance.
Cons
Disorganization and poor communication runs rampant. Poor treatment of employees. Poor recognition of good employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Clean house of upper and mid level managers. Evaluate feedback from employee surveys. Look at your own performance.
Pros
Benefits, car, commission, computer, good job
Cons
Low base, poor managers, micromanage, empty promises
Advice to Senior Management
get better managers
Pros

Cons
many people work under a dark cloud of worry that they will be let go
