Pros

Innovative products and great people make up sales staff.

Cons

Management weak with little to no feedback, direction, and or support. "Good ol' boy" network with respect to promotional opportunities. Very politically structured work environment. Attempts to pay most of the sales staff peanuts while handsomely compensating a few senior managers. It was my experience that the majority of the sales staff could sale circles around these few so called leaders.

Advice to Senior Management

Take a solid, unbiased, objective look at all your talented sales people and work to develop those with proven skills instead of some of the clowns that you are currently promoting. Or watch your talented young sales professionals continue to jump ship and head for greener pastures.
