Pros
The work hours are relatively flexible. The pay is decent. The environment is relatively laid-back and rarely stressful. People appreciate the work you do.
Cons
Management is more about buzzwords than efficiency. A lot of employees are either unqualified or incompetent at their work. HR is possibly the most corrupt and inefficient division of the company.
Advice to Senior Management
Sort out HR.
Pros
good colleagues and co-workers, nice location
Cons
no decision making in management
Advice to Senior Management
grow some balls and incooperate middle management
Pros
Bombardier cares a lot about its employees as it is one of the main drivers of all projects. People are friendly and helpful towards each other. There are many opportunities to gain experience in projects abroad, if you show your capabilities.
Cons
Transparency is sometimes low, especially in Human Resources. Also the leadership sometimes comes over as a bit conservative and old fashioned.
Advice to Senior Management
Be even more open to new ideas, focus on harmonization between the different divisions to find synergies on general concepts and methods.
Pros
Great group of peers to work with for the most part.
Cons
New Managment personnel moves have not worked out well.
Tools required to do your job well are not provided.
Work/Life balance is great for some and horrible for others - work load is not distributed well.
Pros
Challanging & interesting work that makes the world a better place!
Cons
Cumbersome systems and procedures typical of large engineering groups.
Pros
Opportunities to move within the organisation are very good. People general try very hard to good work and usually succeed.
Cons
Sometimes bureaucratic which can be very frustrating at times. Working the personal network will generally be helpful in getting things done.
Pros
Great people and a friendly secure environment. Never a problem scheduling time off or changing hours for family or personal reasons.
Cons
Work can feel trivial, and slow at times. If you're someone who thrives on a fast-paced manufacturing environment, this isn't it.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the good work. Middle managers need to work on growth and feedback to employees. Need to work on succession plans for employees on career tracks.
Pros
The world leader in the railroad industry gives a good chance for people willing to perform and ready to work abroad. The flexibel culture gives good oportunity to develop the owen business skills and strength.
Cons
The payment is not uptodate compared with the very limited availability of people working in this job. Difficult to avoid overtime (overtime is paid).
Advice to Senior Management
Go on, but think about workload and salaries.
Pros
The company has good benefits and provides access to a reasonable amount of training. There is a cafeteria on site.
Cons
This company is very political. Managers are promoted based on who they know. Old technology. Discriminates against women and blacks. Nepotism is rampant. Very negative place.
Advice to Senior Management
Executive management in Europe needs to clean house and bring in a brand new management team. This place is beyond hope.
Pros
Easy to change job and opportunities await for you if you're willingly to relocate. Project nature of the business imply downsides.
Cons
People competency is more on the hardcore engineering. Leadership and other skills are not truly valued. Networked company, engineered centered and low space for imagination or experimentation. can be frustrating if you expect your idea on how to do new things to be accepted easily
Advice to Senior Management
Value more the aspects as innovation, new approach and change. Lean the bureaucracy. Empower employees and listen to them accordingly.
