I have had a mostly positive experience working at BondDesk.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe opportunity to get involved and learn about different areas of the business is available. The clients are great. Senior Management solicits ideas from all. Most employees are great. Recent additions to Senior Management team indicate a move in the right direction.

ConsChange of personnel at senior management level has been counterproductive. Business is cyclical - although most are.

Advice to Senior ManagementFinancially and professionally recognize those that have consistently provided professional service to the firm. Appreciate service of deserving employees.

ProsFree pop and food. Unhealthy selections.

ConsToo many rumors which builds insecurities in people's jobs.... which leads to resignations.

    Interesting

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Rochester Hills, MI

ProsPeople are the best asset they company has going for it.

ConsSenior management and the board killed a company culture that was outstanding. They are so clueless and out of touch with the people that give their heart, soul, and personal time with their families, all the while they are laughing all the way to the bank making fat salaries and taking in huge bonuses. They need to stop throwing money at problems and reward the worker bees.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop paying leadership huge remote working fees that hire in their buddies and continue to be on the payroll to consult eventhough they haven't put the time in to actually advise on anything.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

ConsThere needs to be more communication between all departments.

Mostly great people to work with.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsIt is a challange to receive a promotion. There have been more promotions provided in the recent years.

ConsMarket conditions drive the business and impact compensation even if employees exceed performance goals.

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue to engage lower management employees when strategic decisions are made.

    Good People, Not Great Leadership

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGood support and collaboration between some of the employees
Fair amount of independence in how you do your job
Good benefits, though they have been reduced in last couple years

ConsPretty closed cliques in the different offices, company is too spread out between locations
No real upward mobility, though that is often difficult in a small(ish) company
Lots of management changes, not really impressed with any of the choices

Advice to Senior ManagementA way has to be found to bring technology and marketing onto the same page - the clients must think there's lots of internal dissent

This is a terrible place to work that refuses to recognize industry standard, promote from within, or communicate.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThe drive is close and the health insurance was decent. My first year the bonus was good but after that there was a serious decline in bonus percentage.

    Cons- Incompetent Mgmt
    - Refuse to give raises
    - Refuse to promote from within
    - They will hire contractors before moving existing employees around
    - The HR Director does not provide adequate assistance even when pressed
    - Management does not support it's employees decisions (especially in the integration group)
    - They do not recognize industry standards (project mgmt, software development) as being useful or effective
    - Poor software development in general with little to no regard of standardization, user interface, application uptime and stability.

Advice to Senior ManagementShut it down. There is no good reason to keep this place going. Unfortunately major companies find BondDesk too far gone in the wrong direction to want to buy them.

    Mostly positive.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsSkilled management. Industry leading market position. Flexible about work-life balance. Good location for NY office. Nice colleagues. Interesting projects to keep occupied.

ConsOwned by private equity. Smart managers but tough, and looking to sell. Means some positions could be eliminated post sale.

    Incompetent Management

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsDecent benefit package and office space.

ConsNon Industry management and poor leadership with poor communication. Management really has no idea how trading desks work and don't see how poorly our customers view them.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire competent senior management. They have no idea how to run a financial services firm and are way out of their league. The top three leaders have failed miserably. Make some changes.
