Pros

The product portfolio has been trimmed and new products have been added. The integration with Avanex seem to be progressing well. They are trying to plug the holes in the new product line up. Overall a good place and would suggest faster response from management to become an aggressive player in the telecom market.

Cons

Too many players and need a stronger product portfolio to lead the market with out which long term profitability is questionable

Need to act faster in resolving customer requests

Pros

decent compensation in this economy; flexible work hours though long; a very strategic and a good CEO

Cons

No growth or career prospects based on merit but based more on who you know and how well you are in with the hiring managers (may be a hang over from Corning days); need to get new products faster to market, but recent M&A bang on spot

Advice to Senior Management

People are key to the continued growth of any company. Senior mgmt seems to have no interest in charting a growth or advancement strategy for middle-mgmt; Need to get newer and better products faster to market like JDS & Finisar and not be a follower.
