I worked at Borders part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The good thing about working here was being around books, movies and music.

    Cons

Really late hours, sometimes without previous warning. Also some unreasonable demands when puahing the rewards programs.

    I worked at Borders full-time

    Pros

This company had some of the best employees working for it. It is just a shame that they did not appreciate it.

    Cons

As this company went down the ceos got worse. They constantly came up with worse and worse ways to run the company while putting all of the onus for success on the stores rather then their own ability to come up with reasonable ideas

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

I worked at Borders part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    - They had a nice employee discount.
    - It was a good first job for someone new to the workforce (I was eighteen when I started working there).
    - If you're a bibliophile like me, what better place for a first job than a bookstore?

    Cons

    - I worked in the cafe, where some customers . . . weren't so fun to deal with. That's true anywhere you go, but in Marin County, they turn the level of snobbery and entitlement up to eleven.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Nothing I could say to the management would matter now, since Borders is sadly long dead now (requiescat in pace).
