Pros
One can learn a lot, good career growth, very professionally run, systems in place, very compliant, good employee relationships, steady company
Cons
Not dynamic, slow in implementation, very cautious, conservative, not a good marketing company , mediocre pay master, too many hierarchy chains.
Advice to Senior Management
Open upto new ideas, become more dynamic, be more customer centric, don't lose good gUys , retain good talent, be more cross bu oriented
Pros
Very good company for those who wants to learn the technical aspects of the Automobile Industry. I would rather prefer to say Bosch Ltd (formerly MICO) as a "Bosch University" than "a Company". If we have a will to learn and know things, you can fetch as much data as possible. This would be a IDEAL Company for a Fresher with lot of energy to know Automobiles
Cons
The pay package and Increments are far below comparison to the Industry Average.
The Growth rate is very sluggish means it would certainly take a good number of years for reaching a minimum team lead position
Performers are not well rewarded
Completely system driven company
Advice to Senior Management
Try to gratify the minimum pay package requirement in reference to the Market Mean
Refine and redefine the promotion of criteria and make them more of performance based than experience based
Pros
Fair compensation. Less bureaucracy.
Tonnes of opportunities to grow within the organization as long as the associate is willing to move.
Cons
Management has no clear vision.
Lack of transparency in goals
Promotions given to preferred associates.
Company is bowing down to market pressure and compromising on quality
Pros
gr8 work culture and atmosphere
Cons
less pay, less international travel
Advice to Senior Management
increase the salary
Pros
1. Bosch is a well-known global manufacturing company. Brands and products are recognized worldwide for their reliability.
2. Privately held and financially stable organization.
3. Bosch’s majority shareholder is a charitable foundation.
4. Large multi-cultural organization with several career advancement opportunities.
Cons
1. German centric business culture - German-based Bosch executives struggle to understand the vastness of the US market and adapt to the diversity of end-user needs. For them, product engineering is paramount, and the superior product sells itself; cost-benefit, marketing and distribution considerations are secondary. German-based Bosch executives also fail to capture the layer of complexity of the US distribution systems.
2. Inward looking organization, obsessed with planned processes, systems, procedures and secrecy. As a result, decision making is slowed down considerably. Customers are often an afterthought.
3. Not a technology leader in the Security industry. Must bring products & software to market at a faster rate to remain competitive. Remains years behind on the newest technology developments and relies heavily on attaining them through acquisitions.
4. US benefits and compensation packages - Unattractive Medical Insurance coverage choices. Average 401k retirement and discriminating access to company pension fund. Base salaries are not competitive with US industry averages; low and predictable annual salary increases barely keeping up with cost of living inflation. Convoluted sales incentive program.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen and trust US-born executives to handle US business affairs.
Pros
The respect you receive for doing your job is rated exceptional. You feel good at the end of the day.
Cons
Medical Insurance Package? I liked the older pkg better, however, I do understand sometime we must make sacrifices.
Advice to Senior Management
Progress doesn't happen overnight it is hard work and one step at a time .
Pros
Bosch is a company that encourages personal ans professional growth. I am hoping to work for this company for my remaining work career.
Cons
With a company of this size you can sometimes feel like a number. The paperwork can be a burden.
Pros
working as i do one of the perks is regularity you know when your gonna work and what your doing at all times the job doesnt change and you arent expected to do things outside of your job description.
Cons
there aren't allot of option for growth unless you want to risk your skin literally with burns or have the chance to crush yourself on a daily basis. the monotony can be rather bothersome as you have the smae underlying noise running through your ears and even if you have ear plugs in you are just stuck with silence for 12 hours. if we were allowed to place one earphone in connected to an mp3 or soemthing the job wouldnt be as taxing.... ive seen people get really agitated and agravated if we had some sort of thing to break up the drone it would be more bearable...but we cant cause its againts the current rules because a few people ruined it for everyone.
Advice to Senior Management
if we were allowed to place one earphone in connected to an mp3 or soemthing the job wouldnt be as taxing.... ive seen people get really agitated and agravated if we had some sort of thing to break up the drone it would be more bearable...
Pros
Financially stable company; good benefits
Cons
Horrible opinion of people by management - people are literally just a number; replaceable at any time.
If you are looking to be thrust into processes and procedures, Bosch is your company. If you want to provide your customers with value and a good experience, find something else.
If there is a plan, Bosch will follow it blindly and without common sense. Flexibility is not in their vocabulary.
Advice to Senior Management
Seriously consider the time spent on internal presentations, justifications, procedures, etc versus the time spent on the marketplace and customers - there is significant misbalance. In Bosch's eyes, the world revolves around Bosch; however, that doesn't work in North America.
Pros
Bosch is a large company with multiple divisions, which means changing from a sales organization to a business unit, for example, can make a big difference.
The structure changes almost yearly, so if you don't like your current situation, just be patient!
They are very balanced with home/work situations, time off, etc.
They grow through acquisition, so new opportunities are always around the corner.
Cons
In order to get promoted, one is usually best to get a broader knowledge of the company, by changing careers inside the company. They want to make employees more valuable to them by make sure they know more about the company, but are worried about employees becoming "too good" in their field, which might make them more valuable outside the company.
If you eat, sleep and drink Bosch, you can succeed here. After all, we are all lucky to work under the name Bosch. It is almost a religion. Managers are assigned positions and personal initiative is almost frowned on because it gets in the way of the org chart they've already created.
As others have said, if you aren't German, good luck moving up the ladder.
Bosch is too structured. They have no room for flexibility and do not believe in empowerment or trust of employees.
Advice to Senior Management
When you acquire a new company, make sure you know the strengths and education of your new employees. Choose people to lead who know what the rest of the world is doing. Reward employees who are willing to stick their necks out and challenge the status quo.
