Pros
Very nice people.
Employees genuinely care about customers and products.
Great brand and great products!
Cons
That niceness can be somewhat false. Like any large corporation, it's got it's share of politics.
Bose has its own way of doing things, and that can be somewhat cult-like.
Conservative to a fault.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay less attention to the latest 'management' processes being advocated by MBA classes, focus on your people and let them innovate.

Cons
Waste of my years... Too much red tape and politics driving
Advice to Senior Management
Change it .. Get rid of the vp
Pros
Employee Discount was really good. The "loaner" home theater system after 90 days. Managers only required to work 40 hours (allthough more were typically needed).
Cons
LOTS AND LOTS of defective product returns made it hard to believe in selling high priced consumer electronics. Management systems antiquated. Ultra conservative. A sense of "inbreeding" on the inside when coming from the outside. If you haven't been there 10 years, your opinion doesn't matter.
Advice to Senior Management
Step outside the box

Advice to Senior Management

Pros
Great flexibility of time and excellent work-life balance. A fabulous place to work if you value your family life.
Cons
Promotions and growth within the company are limited.
Pros
The people I work with are great, the products are generally well perceived, and generally people are well treated. Bose, being a privately held company, has been fairly stable
Cons
The upper management at Bose makes a real effort to walk the talk of respect and fairness. Unfortunately, not all middle management takes that to heart. There is more political intrigue and nepotisim then there should be, or needs to be.
There is a management practice duJour mentality that permeates this company. If six sigma is good, seven should be better. I don't know, maybe that's in every company
Advice to Senior Management
Maybe it's time to really start doing what you like to highlight in your company profile.
