    Pros

If you have a competitive spirit, and can manage constructive criticism in a positive and proactive manner, then this is the company for you. Upward mobility, fun working environment, autonomy to make decisions, and access to management at every level.

    Cons

In a business climate that is growing rapidly, there can be communication issues from the field sales force to the home office. That is a challenge that I think most companies face in this environment.

    Pros

BBC is an environment where you can learn and advance your career every single day. The org structure is flat. Everyone is approachable. Those that succeed here are those that are willing to ask questions, get involved and show a high work ethic. It's not for everyone.

    Cons

If you're interested in working here just to get free beer and hang out, you won't enjoy the experience. Work/life balance can be challenging. Priorities shift. You MUST be able to multitask and manage up. Prepare for your opinions and comments to be challenged.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Must address the comp gap.

    Pros

Absolutely an amazing experience! The job is dynamic, very active, hands on and impactful. The management team truly values the employees and supports them constantly especially with training. Everyone shares a passion to do their best.

    Cons

There is none that I can see. Yes it is customer service and at times the amount of visitors does get to be a big amount but at the end of the day it's worth it and everyone on the team supports each other.

I have been working at Boston Beer full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great culture, training program and peers. Tons of interactive employee engagement. Asked to provide feedback monthly in anonymous surveys to better the company. Upward mobility. Lot's of sales incentives to earn extra money.

    Cons

My local culture does not reflect the companies culture. Work/life balance is off. Very little exposure to management other than who I directly report to.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When promoting people, consider that they may not be a good fit for managing others. While we have a no retaliation rule, people are still afraid to speak negatively of their direct manager. We need an anonymous way to better manage our managers.

    Pros

Very family-oriented, the co-workers are great, and the benefits are very affordable.

    Cons

There is no lack of overtime, take that as you will. There is some lack of communication but with all the company growth going on it is almost to be expected.

    Pros

BBC has a great training program and works hard to create an amazing company culture.

    Cons

So many daily tasks with little direction. Overworked based on pay

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some managers are way more understanding with comp days than others. After working long weeks/weekends reps deserve comp days that don't take away from pto

I have been working at Boston Beer

    Pros

Though the company is becoming slightly more structured, senior management has always been wary of bureaucracy. As such, practices are frequently changed as opportunities surface. This means that if you find a way of doing your job effectively and yearning for more (or different) responsibility, you can carve out a niche for yourself if you make an effective value proposition.

    Cons

The lack of structure (or competing structures) leads to some levels of disorganization and can add stress to the job. While some people will work 70 hours a week in order to keep a process moving, others work a straightforward 40 hour week. If you aren't someone that can effectively advocate for yourself, your career growth, and what you bring to the table in an area with little structure, you will have a hard time moving up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Prioritize cultural fit when hiring managers and senior managers.

    Positive Outlook
