I have been working at Boston Consulting Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great experience, fantastic and smart colleagues, good work-life balance given the salaries, great benefits

    Cons

Demanding work, long hours, constant pressure to deliver, exhausting travel, up or out culture, limited choice in type of project

    Advice to Management

BCG should focus on enabling a culture that allows each individual to tailor their work to their goals and aspirations

I worked at Boston Consulting Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Great consulting experience
    - Genuinely nice people

    Cons

    - You don't get the industry experience you want e.g., people interested in Education weren't staffed on Education projects but foreign (non Americans) consultants were which is odd.
    - McKinsey SFBayArea work coverage and network is significantly stronger than BCG so you should consider this. It affects two things (1) the kind of experience you get at BCG SF and (2) the type of jobs you get after you graduate and you have to use your network to get VP and up jobs

Great exposure and impact on clients

    Pros

Great culture, good people, excellent learning opportunities, interesting work

    Cons

Some projects are tough in terms of work-life balance, but BCG is the best that I've seen at trying to manage it and make it was feasible as possible.

    Pros

Your co-workers are some of the smartest, most driven people around. You will be pushed to perform at high standards, yet are supported by your team and other office mentors.

    Cons

BCG is great, but consulting involves lots of travel, long nights, short deadlines and sometimes unreasonable client demands. Not having done something before is also not an excuse for not being good at it right away.

    Advice to Management

Would be great to see projects outside of the typical Fortune 500. To get around smaller budgets, maybe we could consider equity as a way to cover our fees?

    Pros

Smart and talented people, great company's culture.
Pay well, invest in employee development, creative with other type of compensation

    Cons

Company culture may differ from office to office.
Sometimes experience of company's organization and processes might be different on emerging markets
Office politics: do not really plays a serious role before parnter's level, but partners games may directly affect your career
