    Pros

Smart and talented people, great company's culture.
Pay well, invest in employee development, creative with other type of compensation

    Cons

Company culture may differ from office to office.
Sometimes experience of company's organization and processes might be different on emerging markets
Office politics: do not really plays a serious role before parnter's level, but partners games may directly affect your career

    Pros

Great salary and benefits, fantastic development opportunities. There's a high bar on performance but those who excel can write their own ticket--the firm will go to great lengths to keep them happy, and they typically get a lot of choice on projects. Great exposure to senior folks--as a consultant I typically interact with people 3-4 rungs above where my b-school classmates would come into the client organization, and senior leadership / c-suite at smaller clients. As a project leader, you're interacting with senior leadership regularly; PL's on my cases present to country leadership, global leadership, boards of directors. Exit options are similarly accelerated. The people are great--very nice, interesting group of people. I find the culture very socially inclusive and not clique-y.

    Cons

Hours and travel can be rough, but great travel / benefits perks go a long way to evening that out (ie no per diem or meal limits, company doesn't get fussed about expenses--they know you're working hard you get appropriate leeway on the soft stuff). Know what you're getting into and this won't be a problem. NY office typically travels less. The bigger challenge is that some projects will just suck. No way around it, and every now and then you'll get stuck on one. There are more peaks and valleys to this job than industry jobs, but BCG does a better job of taking care of their people than is the case at most other firms where friends of mine work.

    Pros

Good work environment, good people to work for. Salary was okay, benefits were good, the office environment was almost always pleasant. Didn't experience any bad office politics or workplace drama while I was there.

    Cons

There is no career movement possible for admin. The only way to grow is to leave.

    Pros

Wide range of project opportunities across multiple industries and locations. Very strong learning and development capabilities.

    Cons

A lot of travel required and you are required to come up to speed very quickly on projects with limited support for this.

    Pros

-Pay and Benefits are market setters and are way ahead of my previous firm
-Tons of smart people there and the company has a great market reputation
-Depending on your office, leadership works to have a lot of office events and foster a close atmosphere, In the smaller offices this is really effective

    Cons

-Work-Life balance is just not a concern and is blown out of the water on nearly every project, red-zone reports are generated but no-one really pays attention
-Culture is VERY young, so you are almost always working for people who are smart, high-achievers with no real leadership experience and, often, very low empathy. This attitude tends to apply to both team and client relations.
-As a consultant and below, you're not encouraged to do anything but project work, limiting your ability to build a network outside of your project team, if on a small team or a bad project then you're going to be in a bad way very quickly.
-Immense up or out pressure(especially on Project Leaders) leads to an atmosphere of extreme competition and there is a lot of back-stabbing and throwing under the bus.

    Advice to Management

    None they'd listen to.
