    A great learning environment.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe department in which I worked in went beyond themselves to continue educating their employees and always seeking to be better.

ConsParking is awful and wish they had an employee lot.

Advice to Senior ManagementShe was great, was always there and never over stepped the line.

My externship there was very rewarding.

    Medical Assistant (Former Employee)
    Boston, MA

ProsThe employees are very proffessional and compassionate. The patients and their families were very helpful with their patient to help make the experience more comfortable.

ConsDoing vital signs on the infants was very scary at first but my team made it alot easier. I don't know who was more nervous in the beginning, me or the patients .

Advice to Senior ManagementI think that management could have been alittle more approachable.

    Great place to work

    Applications Analyst II (Current Employee)
    Boston, MA

ProsThe culture at Boston Medical Center is making sure patients get exceptional care without exception. It's rewarding to know you are working for a hospital that helps everyone regardless of economic, social, or any other factors.

ConsLocated in the city, so sometimes traffic can be bad. Public transportation can be confusing.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good work!

It was an honor to work for an institution that honors its mission statement daily, "Exceptional Care without exception"

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsIt is a place to learn and grow like no other due to its patient population, cultural diversity in all aspects, teaching facility and premier research, studies and programs.

ConsParking is extremely limited and prime, hence a bit costly if you drive to work or must take public transportation in order not to spend so much in either parking fees or parking tickets.

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue to value your best resources there, which are the people who work at your Institutions at ALL levels.

Great boss, flexible hours but running out of research funding

    Research Assistant (Current Employee)
    Boston, MA

ProsMy boss is really awesome. I work as data entry person and she is so awesome about when I get to pick my hours.

ConsI wish I could do more than just data entry. I feel as though there is not opportunity for advancement.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease consider the employee's future goals and reinforce achievements. Also develop a better training protocol as I had to learn everything myself as I went along.

An amazing experience and learning environment

    Pharmacy Tech (Former Employee)
    Boston, MA

ProsYou get to learn a lot from just by being in the environment. Co workers are always friendly and helpful. Management does a great job of keeping order despite the hectic workplace. Training teaches you the basics but you always learn on the job. There is always something to learn while at work.

ConsSometimes training does not teach you everything. You are expected to know about procedures that you don't really know but you will learn on the job. At times you are expected to go beyond your job description without little guidance.

Advice to Senior ManagementA more solid front on management is the key to keeping everything in order. Also there are times when the upper level workers are rude to their team.

Boston Medical Center - a great place to work and receive care.

    Human Resources (Current Employee)
    Boston, MA

ProsBoston Medical Center is a highly ethical not-for-profit hospital with a clear vision of providing exceptional care without exception to all of its patient population.

ConsYou find the same politics at BMC as you find at pretty much every other company.

Advice to Senior ManagementNeed more Indians and fewer Chiefs. The institution has become too top-sided in the non-clinical areas.
