    I worked at Boston

    Pros

A wonderful summer experience, and very good pay.

    Cons

Patience is a virtue sometimes when dealing with ornery Patrons.

I worked at Boston full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

All of my coworkers were very nice, my work gave back to the community, the standards of work and etiquette are high, and benefits are fair. There was vacation, sick time, and tuition reimbursement, which was of value to me.

    Cons

Pay was way below average, and in order to make more money you need to stay there longer, or get promoted. Salary is not based on merit. Politics are totally involved, obviously. The bathrooms are awful.

    Pros

Meet a lot of people, learn the city, learn a profession and a disciplined field.

    Cons

Fractured leadership. No consistency with rules and regulations. To much patronage hiring at the top of the chain of command.

I worked at Boston as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Relaxed atmosphere, ability to work on projects independently, well paid. I really enjoyed learning the ins and outs of how Jobs and Community Services works, but the expectations of work were so low (and there was often no work to do) that I did not gain much from the experience.

    Cons

Crazy boring. There was never much to do, and I spent a lot of time reading blogs on my computer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Expect workers to do work. Do work yourself.

I have been working at Boston part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

It's money and you get 50 percent discount on there products

    Cons

The management sucks and the company is unorganized and you get back stab and put under the bus by your manager and associates and you can work so hard and make the store goal selling but your manager gets your commission check in there pocket so he is making money off your work and they never give you raises NEVER $8 for being there 3 years and being top seller they suck I'll pass!!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more honest to your associates treat them better and be more organize don't blackmail and threaten there job if they can't stay till 2 am or later to do store displays and stuff and not be able to get home if they don't have cars stop all the spanish talking in front of there other associates who don't understand and stop drama and nonsense!!!

    I worked at Boston full-time

    Pros

Lots of down time, never had to stay late to get work done. In downtown Boston.

    Cons

No work towards PE. Supervisor is out of touch, sexist and disrespectful. No one had motivation to get anything done.
