Pros
The people and culture are very enjoyable.
Cons
Things move slowly when trying to get projects done because of regulations.
Advice to Senior Management
Could better organize
Pros
Nice people, great and flexible manager
Cons
Slow pace, not very intellectually challenging but maybe that will come with more responsibility
Advice to Senior Management
At the moment keep up the good work, although there might be a need to facilitate more sociability amongst employees
Pros
I worked in the finance department as an intern and had a great experience. The people were friendly, they pay was solid, and the products BSC makes genuinely make a positive difference in people's lives.
Cons
I found working the 8-5 in the same office at the same desk Monday through Friday a little tedious, at least at this point in my career. Departments are a bit disconnected as well.
Pros
Great support for employees just starting out, great benefits and work environment. Positive attitude of everyone, great culture for engineering. Big support for learning and intellectual development
Cons
It is a big company so there is that proverbial ceiling you hit when wanting to advance your career. Not much room for variable work as an engineer.
Advice to Senior Management
Great, fantastic people to work with who really want to see you succeed. Good leadership and really care for their employees
Pros
Hardworking people committed to saving lives. Technology generally improves lives. Company focus on assuring full access to its therapies.
Cons
Senior leadership struggles with defining and executing a vision for the company. Company tends to overvalue transactions rather than an appropriate balance between people and transactions.
Advice to Senior Management
Focus the company's resources on creating an adaptable culture to meet the challenges of new and diverse global markets. BSC has an opportunity to lead the development of the next generation of medical device companies, one focused on high net margins providing superior economic value to its customers and their patients.
Pros
Name recognition within respective accounts. Quality of our products is second to none. Salary is fair to good for the level of work we do.
Cons
Senior management could improve. New product pipeline has slowed partially due to internal issues but also due to FDA regulations getting more rigid.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to invest in top potential employees to lead us into the future. Implement principals of change management to adapt to our ever changing world in medical devices.
Pros
Good benefits
Products are life saving and positive results for society.
Good training ground.
Talented people.
Cons
- Too many bad decisions, downsizing and ego filled CEO.
- Pay for performance is poor.
- CEO does not respect the contributions, more leadership symbols each month mixed in with layoffs.
Advice to Senior Management
Focus back on growth, limit losses on poor programs, and focus on getting your employees behind you. Evaluate real payback on outsourcing services and IT functions, heading for trouble in systems.
Pros
Pockets of opportunity if you're in the right place at the right time and know the right people.
Cons
Company struggles and regularly downsizes.
Pros
Detailed work environment. Very controlled.
Cons
Management that is bad at communications and numbers obsessed.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to the little guys. Work on new products from the ground level up. Keep people on better contracts that reward results and involvement.
Pros
1. Great work life balance
2. Great flexiblity
3. Good employee benefits.
4. Great insurance
Cons
1, Ineffective communication from senior management.
2. Biased CIO who favors 1 outsourced vendor due to old connections.
Advice to Senior Management
Communicate, Communicate, Communicate with your employees !!!!
