I worked at Boston Scientific full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Smart people, interesting work, and decent pay. Lots of team building activities. Was able to maintain good work-life balance.

    Cons

Nothing notable that doesn't exist at other companies. More politics as you advance. Not very faced paced, but mostly due to regulatory requirements related to medical devices.

I worked at Boston Scientific full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

State of the art electronic based systems are very streamline compared to some other companies in med device and make your life easier when you're trying find or execute day-to-day business. ERP, CAPA, NC, change control, doc archive and record retention, quality system req's and processes were all very established and mature. Heavy innovation at the process level reduces human error for engineering and production staff.

Production culture that focuses on bad systems as opposed to bad people whenever the system could be improved within acceptable value.

    Cons

All the innovation takes effort and time which can cut into your personal life. Sometimes it felt like you were on 20 projects simultaneously with 5 managers.

Trial by fire initially but compensated for later with actual skill set and tool development with peers and mentors.

I worked at Boston Scientific full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Excellent pay, excellent benefits - Before the company moved to Costa Rico the new management was weeding out the dead weight employees. It was exciting to work with the folks from Ireland. They provided fair evaluation, compensation and promotion - based on performance not culture.

    Cons

Boston Scientific sold out to the lowest bidder leaving 1800+ hard working South Floridians unemployed. Many of these folks had worked for Boston Scientific 20+ years. There is a only one way loyalty with this company.I hope to see a day in my life time that our elected government officials will charge rather than reward big business to operate out of the country. Every time I hear about unemployment in south Florida I think about Boston Scientific. The departure of Boston Scientific from south Florida was very disappointing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Move the facility back to south Florida. Employ Americans. How many billions do you really need??

I have been working at Boston Scientific full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

benefits, vacation, work from home, education reimbursement

    Cons

promotional opportunity is limited, company has a political climate that can be difficult to work in, people who survive the layoffs are expected to pick up the extra work of those who were let go.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company is still really top heavy and there are lack of opportunities.
