    Pros

The department is very helpful in ensuring the PhD students are doing their job well as TAs. Overall, the professors teaching the courses are very comptent

    Cons

Some people get a small teaching workload while others get much more work. The grading is very time consuming and takes away from courswork.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to the distribution of work among the TAs. The department should tell professors to be more clear as to what the teaching guidelines are.

    Pros

Boston University has great work/life balance. All jobs, from what I can tell, are 9-5 and they do not want you working past 5pm, unless it's for an event or something specific.

    Cons

It's very difficult to move up within the organization at different offices. It's almost impossible to get a title change. While they do offer cost of living increases each year, it's very minimal.

    Pros

The coworkers were the only redeeming factor

    Cons

-training was long and unnecessary -management was poor and unorganized - they are delusional of what they think students want, they try and run the school like a summer camp. these students are adults and not children

    Pros

BU is a very stable place, with a ton of benefits for families. They provide good retirement matching, a great affordable daycare, excellent tuition benefits, and a vibrant community.

    Cons

BU's salary scale seems low compared to other institutions. The faculty/staff dynamic can be tenuous depending on the unit.

    Pros

They have much resource to provide you with funding and stipend...I never had a problem to work as a TA or RA...

    Cons

They do not have a good resource in career development once you graduate...The only think they basically do in career development office is resume review.

    Advice to Management

If you plan to study at BU, make sure to find a good adviser, participate in GWISE events, and try to take at lease one internship before your graduation.

    Pros

The tuition benefits as an employee are good if you are going back to school or taking classes.

    Cons

Terrible pay, I do not feel as though BU values their employees.

    Advice to Management

Use your buying power to allow for better benefits for employees i.e. a percentage off the MBTA pass or better health insurance packages.

    Pros

There is so much to learn when you work in academic setting. It was a great experience as it allow you to revise your previous courses and grade students based on your knowledge.

    Cons

It is sometimes challenging but things becomes easier if you keep proper keys handy. Again sometimes it is stressful to face students who do not secure as great as other batch mates.
