    Pros

They are very accommodating to my changing availability. Very nice and friendly front end manager. I have some great and fun coworkers.

    Cons

Revolving door of managers in all departments. Some of the customers can be a handful. Rate of pay doesn't coincide with the cost of living. I've worked for this company for 3 years and my rate of pay only increased 54 cents since I started.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think the starting rate for cashiers should be increased. Fast food restaurants employees' start at a better rate.

I worked at Bottom Dollar Food part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

managers were extremely fair to employees.. although was well liked and one of the star employees, they definitely grilled me when needed which i appreciated... and they always maintained a Boss to employee relationship not a friend to friend. Although they were friendly, and outside work sure, have fun, but while at work, it was all business... Really glad i worked for them, even if only for a few months.. great environment to be in, and when i worked multiple jobs, they maneuvered their scheduling to fit mine and also give me solid hours.. They also offered extra work to those who needed a little extra money and that was really sweet of them. i wish i didn't have to leave them so soon, but duty called.

    Cons

truthfully, the customers were the most annoying part of work life there.... whats the point of coming to a DISCOUNT store, asking for further discounts? ... not many cons actually. Some corporate folk were quite unpleasant but i just avoided them when i could.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Store Level employees are the backbone of ANY retailer, therefore they should be treated with more respect.

I have been working at Bottom Dollar Food full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The pay is good and the people are all friendly and easy to work with. Some opportunities to move up with the company.

    Cons

Too many corporate visits too often. Constantly changing work environment and too many growing pains for a company. Changes to operations almost every other week, making it hard to adapt and keep up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to allow employees a better work/life balance. Too many visits and corporate never on the same page with each other.

    Pros

    Managers are very well trained
    Focuses on the Customer
New-ish Company with lots of room to expand.

    Cons

    No Opportunity to Grow
Registers are used that were built before the birth of Christ -- Makes it really hard to achieve great customer service.
Labor Hours are skimpy -- but due to small sales.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper Management should work on their marketing schemes. The Marketing Team is useless.

    Pros

The way that the company tries to go to business is a great approach. They try to make a fun creative atmosphere to work in.

    Cons

It is very corporate but then again so is most of america these days! They are still growing and learning.

    Pros

The company gives associates opportunity to move into full time and up, has a great training program. Pay is fair for full timers. Kind hearted atmosphere.

    Cons

Not all managers are held accountable for their actions, some work really hard, some do nothing and both are treated equally. Part time work has no benefits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the opportunities growing. Add some incentive programs for part timers.
