Pros
the best reason to work at Bovis are the people! The environment is welcoming, and people help each other out
Cons
There are very few if any downsides for working at Bovis lend lease. If i had to pick one downside it would be the amount of traveling
Advice to Senior Management
I would say to the leadership of Bovis lend lease to continue to recruit and hire the high caliber individuals they have in the past
Pros
- exposure to great projects...
- great people
Cons
- Too much overhead - the PM's in the field have to support a huge level of executive overhead, making market competitiveness difficult.
- Too many talented people have left and went to other companies, all that are left are salesmen and business developers
Advice to Senior Management
Look back to what made you great in the past. Look to what they are doing in the UK and AUS.
Pros
Fair employer who listens to your issues
Cons
Work lifw balance not encouraged
Pros
The people were great to work with. Good pay & benefits. Processess well defined and was allowed to perform work without being micromanaged.
Cons
Upper Mngmnt/corporate does not change sales focus with changing times/economy to keep good people working. Also usually disconnected from Projects. A lot of beurocratic red tape to deal with and multiple management approvals for local project tasks
Advice to Senior Management
Diversify sales efforts to include some lump sum/low bid projects, additional market segments, govt projects, etc (everything doesn't have to be negotiated contracts). Listen to employees job leads. Streamline processess - Less Paperwork.
Pros
Good pay and benefits, and if you are a non corporate type (hr, procurement, etc., ) a good place to build your career
Cons
Brutal culture of how people treat each other
Pros
Working with Bovis has always been better than the same position with other firms
Cons
Not much notice when you are going to be laid off.
