I have been working at Brady full-time

    Pros

Working with friendly and smart people. The people in every department that I've encountered are for the most part great at what they do. Many of the middle managers are great about cultivating their employees.
    Average time-off policy.
    Great personal growth opportunities.

    Cons

Lots of instability of upper and middle management personal.
Salary not competitive. I once had a promotion delayed almost half a year so that it would line up with merit increase and they were rolled up together a loss to me.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Financially the company seems to be stable, but a look on the inside (employees) is quite frighting. Middle management is leaving at an alarming rate.

I have been working at Brady

    Pros

Nice colleagues. Family culture. Lean structure.

    Cons

Lack of innovation. Still under restructuring.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More innovation on the internet of things on products, especially on printers and labels. Technology is moving too fast and senior leadership got to adapt fast on the rapid macro change.

    Pros

Nothing any longer as the Company has lost its spirit.

    Cons

Even after poor results Nauman sends out a communication that would lead the reader to believe we're back to a better place. Hello . . . missed expectations, still have not delivered on the synergies from Ops consolidation, no innovative business strategies, turnover across the business and still the same ineffective people in leadership roles. Keep trying the same things over and over and expecting different results! Fire Nauman and the entire board!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do NOT allow Nauman to take a bonus for his ineptitude!

I have been working at Brady full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

When the economy was strong and the company was making sales, everything was terrific but as soon as the economy tanked Brady started cutting the fat and they cut deep. Too deep because the majority of the good people wisely left and avoided the disaster that this company is now.

    Cons

From the CEO who just doesn't give a damn to old management who are so settled and ingrained in their old jobs with their old ways who will never change until they themselves are cut, well just avoid at all costs. Unless they change management and refresh with more progressive thinking people, even if the economy improves, avoid unless you enjoy frustration.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Purge the ones who don't enjoy their jobs instead of waiting for them to quit as they are stagnant people who are bringing the rest of the people down, and most definitely start with upper management this time around instead of attacking the actual workers who are still trying to do their jobs to the best of their abilities.

I have been working at Brady full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

The casual work environment. Work-life balance is OK. Air conditioned plants. The 401K matching program is among the best.

    Cons

Brady has had some very bad years mostly due to poor upper management decisions. Poor upper management includes the board. We pay VP's to write simple childish business plans for the employees to follow; The plans are laughable. No one below the director level buys into any of it. Long term employees, the ones that made Brady what it was, are treated poorly with below market raises. The new hires seem to be hired for the short term, It almost seems that the company is trying to fail. The streamlined systems don't work and only add more work downstream. There is no value to HR or their systems that have been put in place. Training funds are cut every year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start clearing house at the top. Until the clearing occurs the company will continue to sink. Listen to the employees. The CEO has been here for ~1/2 year, I hope he can see though the BS.,

    I worked at Brady

    Pros

I have been promoted 2 times in 2 years at Brady. It's place that rewards people for hard work and dedication.

    Cons

Nothing is perfect and neither is Brady. The important thing is that leadership cares and is working hard to make improvements everyday.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leadership is currently making tough choices that are long over-due. Keep up the hard work, but don't forget the people that are executing the strategies.

I have been working at Brady full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Every single year, working conditions of this company getting worse.
You can choose working Brady just because it is a multinational one. The top of management of EMEA is the people are the worst managers I've ever met.

    Cons

If you do not like politics instead of performance don't come this company. If you can play 3 monkeys probably you will have a longer business life at this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should focus on how to be a LEADER not manager, because you can never believe in them.

I worked at Brady full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Provides opportunities from within, values are great (but senior execs don't follow them), great people (although they are leaving in masses), great work culture/ethic

    Cons

Top 6/7 execs are inconsistent with each other, cannot follow through on strategy for too long before they change direction again. Employees don't know what to do and are not clear on strategy due to so many changes. Salaries are poor and bonus has not been paid out in many years. Remuneration strategy needs to change so that employees are rewarded with a salary consistent to competitors and bonus is viewed as a bonus! People stay because of culture however that cannot last. Employees taken advantage of in many cases. Its very sad, Brady was such a great place to work 3-4 years ago.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Follow the Brady values and policies, Executives are not exempt. Be visible to all employees. Communicate what is going on so that EVERYONE is clear. Grow the business, Brady is Global but focus is only on USA. Hold executives accountable, employees look to them for guidance.
