Pros
Small Company, Great culture, young, energetic, Fun
Cons
A lot of politics
Certain positions are great, some are not
Pros
Young, energetic corporate culture. Company-wide meetings are over the top. Salary and benefits are incredibly competitive. Working for a company that is really trying to help others...very ethical.
Cons
There are many pros and cons to being a smaller company but one of the cons is that dependent on your career path, there may not be formal opportunities for advancement (career ladders) but still opportunities for growth within your job.
Advice to Senior Management
Management team is highly respected. Would appreciate the opportunity for more regularly scheduled quarterly business updates. These are specifically helpful for field based employees.
Pros
- On the cutting edge of medical technologies, exciting products and development
- Lots of opportunities for growth
- Wonderful people to work with
- Challenging work
- Smaller company so you have opportunities to know upper management and provide feedback
Cons
- The travel can sometimes wear on someone after years
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to further develop our employees and show that they are the key to the success of this company.
Pros
-young, energetic company in an exciting field
-supportive of employees
-opportuntiy for professional and personal growth
-due to the smaller size of the company, able to get hands-on experience
-challenging but offers great opportunities
Cons
I do not have any measurable downsides to mention but perhaps that due to the field based nature of the business, building working relationships can sometimes be difficult.
Pros
Small company. In the healthcare industry, so it should have been rewarding.
Cons
Inexperienced people that you are unable to learn from. Low pay compared to GE healthcare, Siemens, Abbott, or Baxter.
Advice to Senior Management
Hire people with more experience.
Pros
Brainlab has good products and some really cool features. Overall the workforce is very young. If you like to travel extensively, this is the place for you.
Cons
Brainlab is a company run by a bunch of engineers that do not know anything about people skills, sales, marketing, customer support or how to keep valuable employees. The company is very tight, not even a little something extra for Christmas. One of the major problems is that they promote engineers into Regional and High Level Management positions where they do not have any experience. They expect you to travel all of the time and the turnover is very high. Be ready to give up all of your personal time to the company and to be treated like a robot.
Advice to Senior Management
Brainlab Management needs to pay their employees more and treat them better for all of the hard work that they do. The level of turnover and “BURNOUT” is VERY high because they make you travel so much and because they are so disorganized. From Regional managers on up they have no idea what they are doing. It seems like they are just flying by the seat of their pants. Brainlab is so understaffed in the field that everyone is constantly just trying to keep up with the demand of the current customers. They expect you to give up pretty much all of your personal time and in return they do not give a crap about their employees!
Pros
Innovative products that serves a good purpose curing chronic tumors and assisting surgeons navigating in the operating room.
Will learn a lot about Healthcare I.T
Company attracts very bright ppl/recent grads from reputable schools
Cons
Management lack expertise
very little room for growth, be prepared to be a support specialist for a long time ( Min 3 years)
Compensations rated very unsatisfied compared to the amount of work you put in ( i.e when you're on call) as opposed to competitors that will reward employees for over-time
High turn-over
Advice to Senior Management
unfreeze that budget, loosen up your wallets and start paying your support specialists a reasonable compensation for over time and end of year bonus! As they are the backbone of BrainLAB Inc. on the field.
To answer question below" Do you approve...?"
Yes i approve Stefan Vilsmeir but not Mr. Sean Clark :)
Pros
The most exciting part of Brainlab is the possibility to help people to save their lifes. I can also prepare your own own schedule and field activities. When you don't feel confident about any product, it is possible to attend several certification training. During installation and maintenance, you can also have proper tools to work in a professional way.
Cons
The worst part of this kind of job is the amount of travel. You will have lot of travels... If you think family life is the most important, forget this job. You will have time for your wife and kids during the weekends, only. Other bad part is that Brainlab does not offer compensation days - DAY OFF (for those days you've worked during holidays and/or weekends).
Advice to Senior Management
Employees with more experience and more knolodge should earn more than new hired engineers.
Brainlab should not put too much burocracy for salary increasing. This makes Brainlab loose excelent professionals.
Pros
Young Company with energy, good to start your career
Cons
Less room to grow, no good for long term career
Pros
The products offered are exciting. The hours can be good if you work in the field. Opportunities to meet many new people in various healthcare positions. Training has improved over the year. Products have improved over the years.
Cons
Not much growth potential without moving to HQ or willingness to travel like crazy. Lots of turnover recently. Sales is portrayed as the stars of the company while the support system gets little to no apprecitation.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat all employees like they are valuable. To ensure that they take pride in their work, show that you take pride in their work.
