Current Employee – been working at Brandeis University
Pros – I find respect and support when I work here. I think that this is a great place to work if you care about the people surrounding you.
Cons – The only downside of working at Brandeis is salary that looks a bit on the low side. The rest seems to be fine.
Advice to Senior Management – Merit based salary increase is pathetic. It ranges between 0.5 to 2.5 for an outstanding performance.
There is just no interest in motivating the worker.

Former Employee – worked at Brandeis University
Pros – There were lots of opportunities to collaborate. Also good mentorship is available for researchers, particularly in research methods and statistical programming. Training opportunities also available.
Cons – There is always more work than there is time to do it all. It can be difficult to maintain a work-life balance, although management is at least verbally in support of trying to do so.

Current Employee – been working at Brandeis University
Pros – Good education and many research opportunities. A lot of good research going on. The school is large enough to be very good in their specialized research fields, but small enough so that it's easy to have personal contact with professors. Very interdisciplinary.
Cons – The upper administration did not appear to show the greatest consideration for the students during my time here with the closing of the Rose and making measure changes without involving the students. The physics department was good, though.
Advice to Senior Management – The upper administration did not appear to show the greatest consideration for the students during my time here with the closing of the Rose and making measure changes without involving the students.

Former Employee – worked at Brandeis University
Pros – Wonderful students and student workers. Top notch faculty. Pleasant campus. Accessible to public transit via commuter rail. Ample employee parking. Used to have good retirement plan.
Cons – In Library / IT merged department, significant problems. Though some issues come with change in economy and overall financial woes of university, much could have been done to ease the burden on staff through considerate communication and competent planning.
Advice to Senior Management – Leaders are good communicators who care and show interest in the people reporting to them.
