Pros
Salary was fair
Benefits were fair
Some good people at the lower levels with lots of experience and committed to the cause.
Good brand recognition
Nice office.
Cafeteria on site.
Cons
Politics - many VPs and directors that get involved in every simple business decision and often leads to the wrong decisions, no decision, or infighting at this higher level for what needs to be done. None of the lower level experienced employees will speak up to what is the right thing to do when the wrong decisions are made because they are afraid of being fired.
No team unity / no coaching to the less experienced.
Many working 12 - 14 hr days just to tread water.
Culture of fear. Blamed for problems outside of your area of control.
Many good, long term (10+ years) competent employees have recently moved on due to sheer frustration or got tired of getting beat up.
Some employees are just toxic to the environment and no one can work with them but they are just left alone and continue to do major damage to the business and other employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Stand back and let the remaining experienced employees do their jobs and complete their work without everyone piling on.
At the same time figure out a way to build team unity, take care of the toxic employees. You will be amazed what can happen.
Stop the culture of fear, break the chains that hold the business back and let good work get done.
Stop the kiss up / kick down culture - no respect exists.
