Pros
Great place to work, strong management in place. Dentist are young but very knowlegeable and friendly. I liked it here very much!
Cons
This was one of the best places I have ever worked. The other reason I left is becuse my husband was transfered out of state.
Advice to Senior Management
I loved the management team. I thought they were very helpful and friendly. Always giving great feedback. Smiles for Everyone!
Pros
four 10 hour days and 3 days off!
Cons
Poor office management; staff treated poorly - like we are just disposable...rudeness to doctors
Advice to Senior Management
Focus more on G3 for employees
Pros
Dental Industry is growing, always a plus
Cons
Speaking of my experience only, there are those in managment that are not respectful, at all, to their employees. A manager is a team captain and sets the example. What I experienced was a level of incomptence that I never hope to experience again. The bad manager behavior trickled down to staff who were also disrespectful towards one another. Yes, it was very difficult to be in that type of enviornment. But in most bad work situations, you can do as much as you can to "hang on", but the best outcome maybe to leave soon rather than later. What is worse is that those who are to remain objective, and do what is the best for the company, do not. "Smiles for Everyone" is the motto. But the company as a whole does not live to the expectation.
Advice to Senior Management
Smiles for Everyone, is the treatment of the clients and how the employees treat one another. Company cutlure unity, and enviornment is as important as profit.
Pros
There are enough people working in each office at any given time that you can actually take vacation without worrying about finding a temp.
Cons
The pay is awful. My last raise was less than 1% of my current wage and my review was outstanding. The bonus structure used to make up for it but they have now changed it to quarterly instead of monthly. Now the bonuses are $400 for three months (for me) instead of the $200/month as before. I was making the same amount working at Costco 5 years ago while I was in dental assisting school than I am now. And now I'm paying my student loans for this "career that pays better." I have been looking for other opportunities and have interviews set up. Don't work for this company. Also, you have to pay out of pocket for dental treatment, where at other offices you only pay for lab costs or cost of ordering supplies.
Advice to Senior Management
The issues with Bright Now are more at a corporate level. The only thing that should be changed at an individual store level is the quality of employees chosen. This company hires without a working interview for assistants which is not common in this area. I think it is important to do working interviews to be sure assistants are trained and competent.
Pros
The people are fun and kind. There is a good amount of diversity in the company which gives a sense of equality. Supervisors in my department and other departments seem fit for their positions. They show care and concern for their work and take time out of their day to listen to subordinate concerns. An open door policy shows good faith and helps build trust between supervisors and their subordinates. They also allow departments to briefly celebrate employee birthdays, which gives a nice little break for everyone to relax so they can take time to reset and re-energize before jumping back into the work.
Cons
The company lack concern for their customers. While working as a collector they tend to ignore many of the financial concerns of the patients. Office Managers at the BrightNow! Dental offices are said to have been ignorant of their patients concerns and let issues go unresolved. Bills then go unpaid and land in the collections department where collectors are unable to collect since there is a pending dispute. Many of these disputes would be resolved very easily if the managers in charge would take time to address the issues. The managers say they lack time and they have other priorities that come first. Then the patient bills go to the credit bureaus, hurting the credit of their patients, though the patients are more than willing to pay if they get their concerns addressed.
Advice to Senior Management
There is no excuse to not have time to help out your patients/customers! Patients are your business and when issues arise from the treatment or billing issues, they should be addressed immediately. Patients should not feel alone in resolving these matters. If management lacks the time to do it then they need to hire someone else to assist the patients in the office for billing purposes and complaints.
Pros
The hours are pretty good.
Cons
Management acts like their employees are dispenseable. I have worked with probably 40-50 people in a office that has only 6 positions in 7 years. Decisions are made without any input from the people who are actually doing the work. Everyone I know who is employed there is constantly looking for another avenue.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to your employees . Give recognition and feedback so that the company can improve. Make everyone feel apart of what is going on. Try to get rid of your superegos.
