Pros
Stability and consistency - no surprises.
Cons
Not enough room for advancement .
Advice to Senior Management
N/A
Pros
-Pay is okay
-I've heard the health benefits are decent, although I don't use them
Cons
-No opportunities for advancement
-Poor training
-No materials to learn from, you just have to learn something and remember it.
-HR department is the lousy
-Was told of the terrific tuition assistance assistance program (5500/yr). But when i went to use that benefit a year later, they told me they no longer offered it, and it had ended two years ago, before my interview. They had given me outdated materials in my new hire packet! The HR lady wouldn't even reply to my tuition reimbursement form. Had to hear from my boss, even though he had just found out too.
-Cheap company
-Want to squeeze every ounce of work out of someone but don't want to pay your for it
-Not proud to work here
-Extremely high turnover
Pros
Decent pay for an entry level banking industry job.
Cons
You never know when you are leaving for the day. Every branch has different policies and procedures.
Pros
It is a multinational company and it has offices al over the world. The management team is focused, well educated.
Cons
The job is a little boring/ hard work is required and also their system does not allow you to work easly not user friendly.
Advice to Senior Management
The foreing exchange efect on the compnay is huge therefore I think hedge fund and other financial instruments should be used.
Pros
Health insurance is decent compared to other places. Conviently located off the highway. Non-management employees are great to work with.
Cons
Our jobs are constantly threatened if we do a bad job. We are micromanaged down to the minute we are there every day. This is a demoralizing place to be.
Advice to Senior Management
Instead of treating your employees with constant disrespect and threatening our jobs if we make a mistake, give us the tools we new to do our job, the proper training, and respect we deserve.
Pros
As long as you do your job, and don't lose any money, or break any rules or policies, you could work here forever.
Cons
If you want a promotion, you better know someone and be their favorite. This company would rather bring people in from outside than to promote from within.
Advice to Senior Management
You say our focus is "people development" but you hire and keep people who know nothing about what we do. Without Armored/CIT this company wouldn't be where it is, yet UPS and FedEx drivers get paid more than our drivers and messengers. The truth is, they deliver packages too, yet we carry sidearms, and shotguns, and we put our lives on the line for Pennies compared to our rates. However, if branch managers do great, they get a $5-10000 bonus while we "business partners" are left with a two cent yearly raise, rising insurance rates, and lower company contributions to our 401k plans, not to mention the pension we lost more than 5 years ago.
Pros
health insurance plan is decent as is the retirement contribution. If you make a mistake, don't worry, your boss is too incompetent to notice anyways.
Cons
Like others mentioned, if you want to build you career here, you need to be best friends with management. Your reporting manager likely does not have experience and is clueless (but they were promoted anyways). There are many lies fed to you to string you along for awhile, but when it comes time to leave, Brink's justifies their lies.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop lying to your staff, stop lying to your bosses, stop lying to yourself. Instead of promoting somebody who you know won't divulge your shortcomings, perhaps hire people who can actually improve the organization.
Pros
Pay is adequate. Benefits are good, not great.
Cons
Disorganized. No growth potential. Horrible lack of training. Employees are set up for failure
Advice to Senior Management
Take it for what it is, maybe I am just disgruntled former employee. But this company is on a track for disaster with the current management staff. Left hand has no idea what the right is doing, and they probably don't care enough to change it. You have to be in the right clique to survive and know who to brown nose to succeed. Internal systems are antiquated for this big of a company and any improvements I would believe would be too little too late. Stop setting employees up for failure and being upset when they fail. Worst company I have ever worked for and I cant believe I subjected myself to it for almost four years.
Pros
Flex Time available is the only benefit worth working for at Brink's
Cons
Management does not recognize your skill set, do not promote from within, you have to be in a click to advance at Brink's
Advice to Senior Management
Does not exist
Pros
There are good people at Brink's wanting to make a difference. Individuals care a great deal about the company and its success. Some of the benefits are nice such as the 401k, though the medical and lack of tuition reimbursement makes it hard on large families and people wanting to finish college degrees.
Cons
The top level of leadership doesn't provide a stable or sound vision of how the company plans on leap frogging the competition. The top heavy corporate office absorbs any profitability in the field and this trend continues to grow with reductions at the bottom and promotions at the top. The cronyism is killing the U.S. and everyone knows it except for Richmond.
Advice to Senior Management
Bring in true leadership that cares about making a difference and not the selfish and good ol' boy network of friends from up North. People are not saying anything, but the turnover in HQ should be evidence of the leadership (lack thereof).
