Pros
competitive salary, flexible hours, independence
Cons
promotions rarely happen, managers are always in meetings and career advancement is a very low priority
Pros
I had a great immediate boss
Cons
Very poor communication between departments
Like most places in Mexico, is it about how late you stay (no productivity implications, no work smarter not longer)
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on results, not hours
Pros
It's safe and not challenging. After they put a freeze on the salary, it went down hill. There's no moral left.
Cons
After they put a freeze on the salary, it went down hill. There's no moral left. I felt as though you can in and just put in your time.
Advice to Senior Management
Have more growing opportunities. Talk with your direct reports and overall, don't take things too seriously. Things could have been A LOT better.
Pros
Business experience and future portfolio
Cons
Management seems to forget human capital is really important. Not relationships for advancement.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep close look into the international businesses
Pros
1. access to BMS drugs for free
2. Decent mid-level pharma company
3. fairly relaxed company culture
4. relatively nice facilities
Cons
1. very little communication from upper management concerning how to deal with expiring patents.
2. company not very innovative - too conservative
Pros
Strong pipeline, "string of pearls" philosophy in regards to new compounds, people are really nice at least in the division I work in, good benefits.
Cons
BMS is known to pay less than other similar sized companies, and there are limited opportunities for advancement in some cases, paritcularly for personnel based in the field.
Pros
Competitive salaries, good benefits, great for working mothers.
Cons
Little opportunity to cross-train, unless you completely switch departments.
Advice to Senior Management
Remember your company would not be where it is without the people who work for it.
Pros
People, challenging work, benefits, work life balance
Cons
Opportunities within to grow to larger roles
Pros
A lot of opportunity to learn
Cons
A relative ly flat organization
Advice to Senior Management
Appreciate people who are working hard. These are the people that are taking Bristol where Bristol is today
Pros
Good reputation. Ok products. Neutral pipeline.
Cons
Merck was a much better company to work for (wish I never left).
Advice to Senior Management
Turnover would be a lot less if reps were treated better.
