Pros
Flexibility, interesting work, good benefits
Cons
Too many managers, very hierarchial, not enough indepence for researchers
Pros
Strongest Pipeline
Focus on the Patients needs to make a difference
Benefits
Cons
Pockets of Management that have lost the passion
Pockets of employees that abuse the system and ruin it for others
Advice to Senior Management
Communicate more frequently to the employees
Take the positive changes made so far and keep communicating it enthusiastically
Pros
Ability to meet and work with many different people from all over the world. Sense that work was valuable to the world at large
Cons
Profession of corporate philosophy didn't always translate to actual practice. Unwillingness of upper management to admit to making mistakes.
Advice to Senior Management
In a regulated industry there are only so many ways to do business without compromising the outcome.
Pros
Just as others mentioned-- salary and overall comps. are reasonable (not great). Flexible schedule in some groups. Company is perceived as better than average due to recent "String of Pearls" strategy to bring a robust pipeline picture for wall street. Good for investor ROI.
Cons
The biggest obstruction is the pockets of senior Mgmt killing innovation, fair competition, and surrounding with yes men/women to shield themselves. Strong resistance to change, and wasteful spending on ill-defined goals have really wasted millions in IT areas. After all, it is neither a good message for a few productive people there, nor for the business who repeatedly get burnt from ill-manged poorly delivered IT stuff. Yet star rewards are used as a cup of starbucks-easy to get, but seriously do they mean anything(?), are they well deserved??
Advice to Senior Management
Have anonymous feedback about the D7, D8, Es level folks. Weed out the folks not keeping up with change, and keep ducking when re-orgs. occur.
Pros
Like a family company !!!
Cons
I dont have to say nothong bad
Advice to Senior Management
BMS is the perfect company to work until retirement
Pros
This company offers a great benefits package and competitive salary. The company does a good job of communicating all relevant business information to employees and has a culture of openness as far as what is going on with the company and senior management.
Cons
Although the company has good policies in place, there is a lack of civility and respect by local (lower level) management toward employees. Cronyism is rampant throughout the regional area. Although this may not be entirely systematic, the company has failed to get a good grasp on the problem and handle it effectively. This results in a culture that breeds a hostile work environment within a local region.
Advice to Senior Management
Monitor your local leadership teams very carefully and identify behavior/conduct that is not in alignment with company values or goals. Put a better system in place that incorporates a 360 review for your management teams.
Pros
We have negotiated for decent health insurance.
Cons
Management hates unions and has tried, and is still trying, to destroy us. They have sold off most of the highest grossing subdivisions, outsourced almost all manufacturing, and downsized to run on a skeleton crew. Now they have outsourced the maintenance. Meanwhile the researchers spend half the day in the gym, not at their desks.
Advice to Senior Management
Bring manufacturing back to the USA! We make better product.
Pros
Flexible work hours; can acquire good experience
Cons
Compensation; career advancement opportunities; recognition
Advice to Senior Management
More transparency
Pros
Great experience, good people, great opportunities
Cons
None. Good company to work for.
Pros
Good salary and good benefits package
Cons
Job insecurity, high stress, lack of appreciation for hard work and loyalty
Advice to Senior Management
Give people more job security
