I have been working at Bristol-Myers Squibb full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great opportunities to work on a variety of assignments.

    Cons

Consistently asked to produce with less resources, Very Stressful. Often, deadlines are very unrealistic. Highly stressful environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better planning of resources will result in happier employees. Resources often asked to work double jobs because of lack of initial planning. Tight deadlines are often missed and employees are hit in appraisals for this.

    Pros

New management and restructuring focused on translational research is a strong positive.
New immune checkpoint inhibitors for cancer therapy will bolster BMS.

    Cons

    Pervasive passive-aggressive behaviors.
Difficult to get solid commitment for new pursuits by upper management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide transparency on approval structure, particularly so now with new management--this is an opportunity.

I worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Very well organized. Very strong culture of leadership. Very strong talent development culture and programs. Outstanding group of people to work with. Happy place to work.

    Cons

Bonus structure could be more rewarding.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue with your strong culture of leadership, talent development, and teamwork. After having those things in place, everything else just happens very well on its own most of the time. Give the employees a better bonus structure and promote some of them who have been in positions for a long time doing outstanding work. You'll retain your best people even better.

I worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

I've worked on and off as a consultant for BMS for the past 15 years and I have to say that my favorite group was working in the Multimedia department with Director Jeanne Breisch-Jones. She and the entire staff was a pleasure to work with, very knowledgeable and efficient.

    Cons

The only con which isn't a reflection of this department was many layoffs everyone had to endure with this company which is why I prefer to work as a freelancer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the amazing work you do.

    I worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb

    Pros

Not a stressful environment, very positive attitude by employees. Couldn't have asked for a better experience or nice co-workers.

    Cons

I have absolutely no complaints about Bristol-Myers Squibb other than that there is limited room for advancement for employees. Other than that, no complaints.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company could definitely benefit from a more organized intern program. Program was a lot more informal than other companies programs.
