    Pros

Very strong leadership. Opportunities to grow everyday. People love to collaborate and build solutions across business units. Learning all the time. Feel as though my contributions really do help patients prevail over serious diseases.

    Cons

    I see nocons at all.

    Advice to Management

Keep going with the pipeline and the decisions you have been making to create a company that is best in the world of BioPharma. Regarding the question below, I approve of how Jim ran the company and approve of how Lamberto Andreotti is running the company -- GO Lamberto!!!!!

    Pros

My experience at BMS was very positive. The employees are all really friendly. They encourage a collaborative atmosphere. They want you to learn.

    Cons

The work may be a little dry, but that of course is depending on which field you are in. I was in IT so obviously it won't always be fun.

    Pros

Friendly coworkers who are glad to offer their expertise when I ask. About 5 medications in phase 3 clinical trials make the company well positioned for good cash generation in the near future. The company is moving to a biopharma model to ensure sustained growth.

    Cons

Long walk to the parking lot for many employees. The company is streamlining to be more agile and has had several rounds of restructuring and layoffs in the past 3 years.

    Advice to Management

I believe that Lamberto Andreotti and his executives are a good team and they are guiding the company towards solid performance.

    Pros

Not a stressful environment, very positive attitude by employees. Couldn't have asked for a better experience or nice co-workers.

    Cons

I have absolutely no complaints about Bristol-Myers Squibb other than that there is limited room for advancement for employees. Other than that, no complaints.

    Advice to Management

The company could definitely benefit from a more organized intern program. Program was a lot more informal than other companies programs.

    Pros

Departmental Community Atmosphere, Telecommuting Allowed, Great Managers, Encouragement for Educational Enrichment, Great Benefits, Excellent Cafeterias and Health Centers, Very Professional Corporate Environment. Travelers stay at very good hotels. Team work is highly utilized and in a great way.

    Cons

Making employees drive back and forth to various NJ sites as instead of using excellent in house technology for meetings. Not enough telecommuting is promoted. Politics can be a little rough depending on department. Upper level management not in touch with needs of worker bees. Mid-level management is overworked and highly politicized internally.

    Advice to Management

Go talk with the lower level workers (non-managers and scientists) without management around - you might get surprised by what you find.
