It's a job... and one I like, but the culture here needs revamping.

Clinical Protocol Manager (Current Employee) Wallingford, CT

ProsSome people are really great to work with, good bonus, flex-time, work from home options, small office environment, work rotations

ConsSome people are not so great to work with, not-so-great benefits, management that is not amendable to change, low salaries compared with other companies, high workload

Advice to Senior ManagementImprove benefits, raise salaries to be more in line with other companies, balance workload better, get rid of line managers that haven't done anything in years, but stay because of longevity

Research Scientist I (Current Employee) Wallingford, CT

ProsLocation is is rural but easy access to Hartford or New Haven. Fitness center, credit union, cafeteria. Commute is not stressful. Many cultural and interesting activities are close by. Boston and NYC are close and NY can be traveled to by train.

ConsTraveling to NJ for meetings is rough.

    A Great Place to Work

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Wallingford, CT

ProsDepartmental Community Atmosphere, Telecommuting Allowed, Great Managers, Encouragement for Educational Enrichment, Great Benefits, Excellent Cafeterias and Health Centers, Very Professional Corporate Environment. Travelers stay at very good hotels. Team work is highly utilized and in a great way.

ConsMaking employees drive back and forth to various NJ sites as instead of using excellent in house technology for meetings. Not enough telecommuting is promoted. Politics can be a little rough depending on department. Upper level management not in touch with needs of worker bees. Mid-level management is overworked and highly politicized internally.

Advice to Senior ManagementGo talk with the lower level workers (non-managers and scientists) without management around - you might get surprised by what you find.
