    Pros

Work-life balance, great people, competitive salaries. Everything is pretty much okay, there's always a room to grow because the company processes are far from perfect.

    Cons

The cigarette industry in Russia is declining due to severe laws, so company employs less and sometimes hire a lot in order to cut costs.

I have been working at British American Tobacco full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

All the perks you can imagine, expense account and company car that you can take to the US for personal reasons - shopping or vacation - and they will pay the gas for it even if you go all the way to Florida

    Cons

Lone wolf type of job - you are pretty much on your own - you meet your boss and peers once a month and have a regional/national meeting every 3-6 months. Manager supposed to go out with you on trade tours once a month but in reality is more like once every 2-3 months. Terrible with/for promotions if you do not have an insider to prop you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Real disconnect with the market. Excellent reach methods for consumer in a dark market environment but customers and reps are looked down upon, resulting in slow painful progress in the marketplace.

I have been working at British American Tobacco as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Good employee benefits, relatively flat structure as management team members are approachable, dynamic working environment, creativity is encouraged in the company.

    Cons

Approval process can be slow and long, not many development opportunities internally. The relaxed culture could generate inefficiency at work. Promotion could be political instead of value of talent.

    Pros

Great compensation within a challenging and dynamic environment. Cross functional teamwork is very rewarding with people pulling together to get the job done.

    Cons

Office politics are rife, with it generally being quite accepted as a part of the status quo that you're alliances are more important than what value you add.

I worked at British American Tobacco

    Pros

Good benefits, they take very good care of their employees and invest well in them. They acknowledge the importance of work-life balance. A great culture indeed!

    Cons

The company seems to be changing recently in respective to certain benfits towards its employees. For example the bonus scheme have decreased recently than what it used to be. These changes came after the challenges that the tobacco industry is currently facing on global level. It is also worth noting that employees in the tobacco industry (in general) find it very hard to leave to other companies that operate in a more complex buseiness models versus tobacco industry which only operates in one category (combustibles).

    Pros

It is a truly multinational and multicultural company
It is a very successfu company
It gives very good salary and benefits

    Cons

In a few occasions, it felt like the company was taking decisions on employees roles and career moves without really consulting the employees, just working on the assumption that if you are well paid, you should accept everything

    Pros

Good for junior to mid-level management to gain challenging growth opportunities. Many chances to work and communicate with counterparts within and across regions. Good compensation. Flat and open culture, flexible working hours.

    Cons

Very heavy politics. You need to know and be liked by the right people to succeed. Tobacco industry outlook is not good, and industry concern grows over time.
