Pros

Cons
hard to get promoted, poor life work balance
Advice to Senior Management
give more opprotunity for advancement
Pros
There are a lot of opportunities within the company to move and explore. All the people I worked with are very good at what they do, and they are happy to help you.
Cons
Depending on the group you work with, there can be very slow weeks where you have a lot of free time (which can be quite boring) or very busy weeks where you are working non-stop.
Pros
The office space is cozy and you have two monitors at your disposition. Great perks such as free tickets to Anaheim Ducks game.
Cons
No covered parking available in Irvine campus. Also food could be better and dinner service is no longer available which is inconvenient if working late.
Pros
more challenges, nice payment, nice work enrionment
Cons
but no key tech transfer to china
Advice to Senior Management
why not focus at china marketing, it is a big market of the world
Pros
Company is on the leading edge of what's next
Surrounded by smart colleagues
Managers are great - do not micromanage
Allows for transition and career growth
Cons
Not many employee benefits for Interns
No intern mentor-ship program
Not social, except for family day
Lack of fluid inter-department communication
Advice to Senior Management
Create a solid pathway that would allow interns to join full-time when they graduate. Give's them more incentive to work harder
Pros
Top performer highly rewarded.
Excellent health insurance
Cons
Work life balance Is bad.
Zero vacation days on balance sheet.
Pros
Smart people
Good stack bonus plan
Open working enviroment
Cons
work load is high
need more communication across department
Pros
When you work at Broadcom, you get a chance to look at everything from the silicon, to the board, to the kernel, apps, etc. This is a very different mindset in comparison to other companies who use Broadcom products or similar companies chips/board. For example, if you work at networking company, most of the times you will touch some part of the stack or may be some application. Here we do everything.
Cons
Work and Life is not fairly balanced. Broadcom is very aggressive in competition which means we almost always promise the sky to the customer and as it happens sometimes deadlines slip and everyone is working late nights or is at customer sight resolving issues from a weeks stay to over a month. If you like to be challenged and not stick to one component (SW/HW) and also like travel then you will love the job (which I do too).
Advice to Senior Management
Management needs to plan very well. Yes every customer is important, but there should be realistic goals and a mindset for Agile thinking from eliciting product requirements to SW development to shipping and support.
Pros
Nice environment
Interns work on real projects
Nice stipend
Cooperative colleagues and mentors
Company has a wide range of products and technologies
Cons
The stipend could have been better
Could not learn much
The mentors and colleagues have a lot of expectations from fresh interns
Advice to Senior Management
The company is really great. The management is top class. The employees are top notch and very talented in their field.
Pros
Good pay, cutting edge technology, challenging projects
Cons
Engineering language is not English but Chinese
Advice to Senior Management
Make Broadcom an American company again
