Pros
flexible work schedule, a lot of nice people to work with.
Cons
mandatory unpaid time off, promotion track is slow, execs get raises but employees get laid off, good talent is leaving, bad employee morale.
Pros
Good facilities, better PTO and layoffs are infrequent
Cons
Middle heavy, no succession planning, zero non-engineering focus for career development
Advice to Senior Management
Be clear, be strategic and do not change your tunes every quarter
Pros
The team work and ability to grow your skill set so that you can grow your career is one of the reasons to work for Brocade. Their Benefit package and Bonus program is another.
Cons
Like most enterprise companies, you will find politics in the ranks and will need to deal with it. They do tend to look at outsourceing work to India faster than other companies.
Advice to Senior Management
Realize that senior engineers while not always working as fast as younger engineers especially in India, do tend to have the experiance that allows them to do better work with less mistakes which in the long run costs the companany less money. Trying to get new college students up to speed can have costly delays on projects compared to keeping a few experianced engineers around.
Pros
new campus,cafeteria and gym facilities
Cons
1. No appreciation of good work for fresh graduates.
2. expected to work long hours and sometime on weekends
3. no work-life balance
4. salary is below market value and incompetitive and no increments since 2 years
5. too many shutdowns ( two times in a year ) and mandatory unpaid time offs
Advice to Senior Management
Acknowledge and give respect to the hard work of your employees and atleast give them bonus as promised rather forcing mandatory shutdowns on them and expecting long hours to work.
Pros
Great people
Industry leader
Great Market Share
Cons
No raises in several years
Commission payout is awful
Medical costs are high
stock options are limited
PTO reduced and Unpaid timeoff is mandatory
Pros
Cares about employees, great facilities (cafeteria, fitness center, restaurants close by), good technical learning, great for new university hires, and for people who want to dive deep
Cons
Some politics for an organization of this size, career advancement an issue, job rotation is an issue. Communication and ownership unclear in some parts of the organization
Pros
Flexible working time.
Historical good bonus program.
Leading product lines.
Good engineering lab support.
Good onsite gym.
Cons
No vision. Office politics. Do not focus on technology.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat engineers fairly. Give them the way for career development.
Pros
salary competency and working environment
Cons
need more longterm vision and strategy
Advice to Senior Management
sending my trust.
Pros
A good number of A players to learn from. Many chances to make an impact. No fat, small groups, lots of variety in work. Good people. Great HW Engineering. CTO very funny.
Cons
CEO warned not to expect bonuses, said "they are not entitlements". Executives ask for employees to give up raises, bonuses, then give themselves raises and bonuses. Some of us have seen no raises in 3yrs. Good people leaving.
Advice to Senior Management
Compensation MUST be fixed. Either that or suffer with us. Don't ask us to sacrifice and then "eat cake" and drive Bentleys. Great people are leaving. Pay attention before it's too late!!!
Pros
flexible work, good communication, good people to work with
Cons
inconsistent company furlough
no raises and no merit
