Pros
They pay well, and promote the company as being a good place to work. Overall employees and contractors are treated with respect. I think some teams may have a good culture- its ALL about the manager.
Cons
Brocade management is out of date. They have a be-in-the office from 9-5 mentality, ineffective technology for employees, endless work cycles and nothing seems to change, silo-ed middle management.
Advice to Senior Management
Get a little more synergy with your middle management. And perhaps look to HR to get a real picture of people's exit interviews. I think that staff wants to continue improving, but there is a gap in terms of corp goals and empowerment/execution.
Pros
-Great compensation
-New headquarters building
-Great cafe
Cons
-Didn't interact much with other members of the team, just worked closely with my supervisor
Pros
Good family work balance allowed
Cons
promotions and raises are difficult to obtain depending on manager
Pros
The Salary is good, there are interesting jobs in Europes biggest data centers, the customer's acceptance is good, nice journeys to Europes biggest cities, meeting interesting new people all over Europe.
Cons
The Company seems to be growing too fast, there are often reorganizations, the former market leader in SAN business is now a networking firm like others, and not a very big one...
Pros
Good technology
Decent bonus (was scaled back greatly)
Good PTO (Also scaled back a lot)
On site Gym
Cons
Very demanding schedules.
Not much work/life balance.
Foundry endeavor is not producing envisioned results
Small cubes with no privacy
Advice to Senior Management
Treat your front line engineers well.
Pros
Good work challenges every day
Cons
Recognizing the contributions of specific employees could be better
Pros
Hopefully the company will be bought soon to force a change in management and HR.
Cons
No work/life balance
Management sucks
Unfair pay practices
Madhouse enviroment
Below standard quality of products
Advice to Senior Management
Start taking care of the employees instead of just yourself. Try giving stock options/ bonuses to the workers who are producing quality work. Do not expect employees to work or be on call 24/7.
Pros
Brocade compensates people well and its vacation plan is good. In good times, it pays out generous bonus.
Cons
Networking industry is mature, not much innovation here.
Pros
Work with cutting edge equipment and very talented people. Work life balance is good as long as deadlines are met.
Cons
Much lip service to career growth but I have seen next to no movement here. Training and learning done on personal time. Schedules don't move even when quality might be at stake.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't discount our intelligence. When you stand up and say that you are promoting a work life balance and re institute a shutdown, with little to no advance warning and without changing any schedule deadlines, we know that it is going to take many Saturdays and Sundays to make up the time.
Pros
Nice facility in San Jose which was newly constructed. Friendly fellow employees. provides good support to local community / charities.
Cons
not growing fast. work life balance is getting tough. politics are increasing. employees are losing the trust of the senior management team to deliver results.
Advice to Senior Management
you cannot hold on to your positions for this long and not deliver results. reduce the politics if you can please
