I worked at Bronco Wine Co. full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very quiet, small office in southern Napa. Minimal drama unless you bring it yourself. benefits are pretty god. free coffee, boss is amazingly chill.

    Cons

pay ain't so hot. Their budget is tight so you'll probably only temp for them. Work sometimes comes in a bewildering deluge from many different sources, which is stressful.

    Advice to Management

can't think of much to say besides have a better idea of how big your budget is before making decisions. Be more cognizant of how much work you're foisting on your employees at once.

    Pros

There are no pros about Bronco Wine Company.

    Cons

The management of the company is dominated by three owners. While I appreciate that the goal of business is to maximize shareholder wealth, they do so in a manner with no regard for employees.

    Advice to Management

Establish a formal structure of senior and mid-level management that would foster a culture of growth and values.

    Pros

I had access to every aspect of the company. Everyone was approachable from the winemakers to the owners. If you want to learn about the World Wide Wine It is a great company for you. Great for independent people.

    Cons

It's a family owned company, so there lacks transparency that you may get from other company's. If you need to be held like an infant it may not be a good fit.

I worked at Bronco Wine Co. full-time

    Pros

Don't need any previous skills to work here. People quit so often, there is a good chance for promotions (don't expect a good pay though). Good place to build up some experience, but you are doing something wrong if you stay here longer than 2-3 years.

    Cons

Education means nothing here. This could also technically be a pro if you are someone with no education. Pay is on the very low end when compared to other wineries of similar size. Supervisors tend to verbally abuse their cellar workers and treat them unfairly. Favoritism is definitely a factor. If you are going to take a salaried position, make sure you are more than satisfied with the pay, because you will definitely be overworked and likely underpaid. A negative environment.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of your old supervisors/managers and start anew. Pay your workers what they deserve, they are your foundation. A crappy foundation leads to a lower quality company/product/brand. No one wants to work at Walmart their entire life, but people would give an arm to work for Costco...

  8. Pros

Local area, not too much travel. Incentives, commission. Freedom to be in charge of your territory.

    Cons

Pay is entry level. Merchandizing in grocery. Quotas seems high to reach.

    Advice to Management

Keep the communication open. Allow more commissions or incentives.

I worked at Bronco Wine Co. full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great work structure. Very professional. Operations Manager drives the facility to obtain and maintain good efficiencies and not afraid to jump in and help. Great HR department.

    Cons

Sometimes very long work hours depending on your area of responsibility. Not the best pay. No bonuses.

    Advice to Management

Look at the contributions made by your managers and supervisors and pay according to job market. Consider a structered bonus plan to drive a higher standard of performance. Acknowledge the individuals that stand out in the company as ambitious achievers.

    Pros

Only if you are an operator is when the job was good.

    Cons

Not enough support from the senior employee and management

    Advice to Management

Be a good listener if you want someone to listen to you.

I worked at Bronco Wine Co. full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Employees have a great support structure and look out for each other. Very fun to work during harvest and peak production time.

    Cons

Employees look out for each other because management is busy looking out for themselves. Owners are very mean spirited and view all employees as tools to line their pockets. Loyalty means nothing to ownership.

    Advice to Management

Speak up and stand your ground. Look out for your employees and they will respect you and work harder and safer.
