I have been working at Brookline College

    Pros

Your not restricted to a specific lunch and break schedule. Some and instructors and directors do really care about the students.

    Cons

For the allied Heath programs the quality of the students could be improved apon. The company itself is cheap, especially on their supplies. They took away the 401k employer contribution and the new healthcare plans aren't the best.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you treat your employees better they will perform better.

I worked at Brookline College full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great coworkers, people at the Tempe location care about their students. Nice property and a very cozy feel for students and workers. It is easy to work with all departments at this location. Could be a great place but...

    Cons

Corporate is not sure what to do with this location and as a result they are churning through employees like there is no tomorrow. The strategy for this location does not seem to have a clear direction. Applicants cannot differentiate between Brookline and other schools in the area.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This is for corporate, figure out what you are doing with this location. You have great employees, faculty and staff. The location itself is pretty nice but one can see that it does not have a strong identity. Take care of the people who work for you.

    Pros

None. The current corporate regime has forced all of the good people out.

    Cons

Everything! They don't care about the student experience and even stress "allowing students to pass" so they don't lose money.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get a clue.

I have been working at Brookline College full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Teams are truly that a collective effort of people who mutually care about the same principles and values in helping the students succeed. Furthermore, allowing for an environment that allows for growth and development into your chosen career path. Remarkable leadership with a focus on family, corporate culture and integrity. I've worked for some amazing large companies and this one is has a small company feel, but a large company vision. It is an opportunity for anyone to help others, at that same time professionally transform into leadership. As the new foundation has been set, and the growth has moved in the right direction this company has found it's stride and is hiring likeminded people who believe in excellence in everything they do. A class act all around a company to work for that you can take PRIDE IN!

    Cons

Distance a little farther than I was used to, but this trip is well worth the drive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the great work, and thank you for allowing your staff to have a voice, through empowerment and actual development anything is possible and the future is brighter than ever. Thank you Brookline Management teams for all you do for your staff.

I worked at Brookline College full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Hmm.. None that I can honestly think of. It is ALL bad.

    Cons

You could work 80 hours a week, all through the weekend, and over the holidays but it would not be enough. They just keep expecting more and more. CEO is two-faced, and the board members are hands on, rude, and look at all people as peons. They only thing this place has going for it is that you could get your education at a low cost or free, if you had time to do so.

If you like reporting to 6-10 different people every day than this is the gig for you. If you like loose management where everything is done by the seat of their pants and decisions are procrastinated on until there is no reasonable way to execute it without it costing more of you working every hour you are awake than you need to rush down and apply.

This place is a rotating door. I estimate that there is anywhere from 10-15 people fired or quitting every week - on average.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop thinking of people as cattle. A little cultivation of talent will go a long way to building an employee base.

I worked at Brookline College full-time

    Pros

Chance to educate new healthcare professionals - the school has tons of healthcare-related programs and many are excellent in terms of quality.

    Cons

Salaries are consistently much lower than those in the actual professions themselves - the educators make way less than many grads who obtain entry level jobs in their chosen profession. Also - there was an across the board 8% pay cut at the beginning of 2013 and there was no plan to ever give that money back to the employees - even if the business picked up. Then, three (or more) high-level management people were hired - their salaries financed by the rest of the employees' pay cuts. Also, they hire many, many healthcare professional because want their expertise, but then they either totally ignore or discount the recommendations these professionals make and think they (the organization) know better than the professionals they've hired. Management knows education - I get that, but the professionals they hire to teach and lead their programs know healthcare.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

As noted above: You know education; the instructors and others you hire to lead your programs are experts in their fields. STOP ignoring the expertise and talents they have and find a way to blend your education knowledge with the professional expertise of your instructors, program directors, and others you hire!
