I worked at Brooks Brothers part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I think the biggest pros are the work life balance and the donations to st. Jude' s hospital during the Christmas season. The discount was okay; however, fifty percent on a 200$ pair of pants is just not worth it. The cons outweigh the pros.

    Cons

If you do not fit the mold then prepared to be treated differently. I felt like I didn't belong because of the way they treated me. It was like bullying tactics in a way. I took the job after being laid off in the financial industry. I needed a job and this place was hiring. I heard the pay was okay so I thought why not. I worked behind the scenes at a bank. I could wear what I wanted within reason. I went from relaxed clothes to a suit and tie. I really couldn't relate to their tactics. I quit as soon as I found another job which was seven months later.

    I worked at Brooks Brothers

    Pros

Great discounts on the products. Flexible hours.

    Cons

Poor management requiring busy work when the store is quiet. Only two employees working at a time. Never fully taught a lot of important register functions such as item look up and credit card creation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop requiring busy work.

I have been working at Brooks Brothers full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The owner of this company Claudio Del Vecchio cares so much equally about his employees and the quality of the product. This man is a gem of a leader!

    Cons

You will NOT find better Cashmere, Marino, SaXxon, cotton, construction and craftsmanship out there. However, the taste level and style is dated and out-of-touch. You're maximizing on a dying breed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You suffer from hubris. The company has amazing DNA and it's Pedegree speaks for itself. As a maker and merchant you can be untouchable in this industry. It's time to innovate again and get to the forefront of fashion. Ralph Lauren has become the modern-day Brooks Brothers.

This is a company that cares about their employees. You get the support you need when you need it. No unreal expectations.

I worked at Brooks Brothers full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Because the management can't hire, the lack of staff allowed for an increase in commission with a sacrifice of the overall customer service.

    Cons

Lack of staff, unattainable goals without the proper staff, not being able to take breaks because of the staff situation. If you can handle micromanaging it's the perfect place. If you are smart and knowledgable about general common sense, you are too smart to work here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too many members of upper management who can't handle the job function. If a problem arose, the blame was always deflected to either employee or another person.
